The challenge
The Merchant of Minecraft!, the February 2015 Minecraft Hardcore Challenge, was about money. Host Michael Deering's objective: have the most emeralds by the end of the eighth day. For once, the special rules allowed killing and eating animals.
The standard rules were no exploring the world in another copy (the Nether was fine), no AFK crop growth, no sleeping in beds to skip the night, and everything on camera at normal speed. Each episode is one Minecraft day and night, in hardcore mode on Minecraft 1.8.1. The eight episodes went up between February 2 and February 27, 2015.
