The challenge
Island Survival, the April 2014 Minecraft Hardcore Challenge, put a team on an island with one objective from host Michael Deering: stay on the island, don't go into the sea water, and survive. The team used positional voice chat, so players only hear the people close to them in the game.
The rules were no mods, no beds, no killing passive mobs without breeding replacements and nothing off camera, in hardcore mode on Minecraft 1.7.4 on the GopherCraft server. The eight episodes went up between April 4 and April 28, 2014. This is a different challenge from Survival Island in March 2016.
