Day seven of Island Survival, Michael Deering's April 2014 challenge, opens with the words "Day 7" and "Forest Fire" over the grass by the cow pen. In the chat Max_Writer writes "new episode" and Basket answers "start of episode." Then the team asks about the Nether. Max_Writer types "How's the nether?" and Steel_Douglas replies "1st fortress a bust" and "heading to 2nd." Basket types back: "a bust? crazy."
Sand and an SOS
The morning goes to the beach. Basket carries stacks of sand and fills the holes the team dug in the desert. "Man, you guys made a mess of the desert." A line of redstone dust runs across the sand, the start of a giant SOS. "That's an odd way to try spelling SOS there." Somebody else says the raft is built: "Here's the wonderful, beautiful raft."
Up optimus1971's tower
A tall cobblestone tower now stands at the edge of the sand, with a ladder up one side. "I want to go and invade optimus's tower." Basket climbs it and finds optimus1971 on top, building with cobblestone high over the sea. The tower is hollow, with a small pool far down at the bottom. "Don't fall." "Don't whisper in my ear, and I won't."
Through the portal
Back by the base, Max_Writer stands at the foot of a water shaft. Basket swims up it in the dark, air bubbles running low. "Man, you drown when you go up here!" At the top, on a patch of grass high above the sea, Scoti_Garbidis waits by a Nether portal. Basket steps through, and the chat shows BasketMC earning We Need to Go Deeper. On the other side the two walk a netherrack cave while the chat fills up: lostinthefort earns Cow Tipper and Repopulation, Max_Writer writes "They're coming for you!" and Steel_Douglas types "heading back." Basket mines a stack of netherrack and comes home with it.
Signal fires
"I can make fires in the beach. Yeah, maybe we'll get saved." As the sun goes down, Basket sets netherrack blocks along the sand and lights each one with flint and steel. Netherrack burns forever, so by dusk a row of fires runs down the beach under a red sky. The chat shows Max_Writer leaving the game and joining again.
The trees catch
After dark, flames climb the trees by the base. The screen never shows how it started, and the voices argue about it. "I didn't light this on fire." "Dude, this is going to take down our fencing and everything." Basket runs in with a water bucket, pours water over the burning leaves, refills and pours again, while zombies wander through the flooded grass. "You guys are idiots, you know that?" The chat shows Steel_Douglas earning Monster Hunter.
Potions and pigs
With the fire out, the team gathers by the enchanting table. A patch of nether wart now grows on soul sand beside it, and Basket works at a brewing stand and a furnace. A chest holds a Splash Potion of Healing, and Basket picks up a golden chestplate. TNT turns up in Basket's inventory. "Why do I have TNT?" "It's a gift." Talk turns to a carrot and a saddle and riding a pig. "Dude, it's the end of the episode." "Tune in next time, guys, to see how many pigs bite it."
Basket ends day seven alive, and the chat shows no deaths. Nobody goes into the sea on screen. The credits roll, and nothing comes after them.
