Episode 6 of Hypermine Vanilla Season 1 is a hunt. Basket and Lapis_Lauri set out to find wild wolves so Basket can tame some dogs. Wolves are hard to find. Cats are not, and the trip turns up two of them early, then a long night in the jungle, a ravine and a lot of empty forest. By the end, a small pack of tamed dogs sits on the walkway at home.
Through the nether
The two meet in the portal room. The only place wolves have turned up before is "really, really far that way," near a jungle. So the route is through the nether, past a ghast ("one shot, one kill"), and down a long tunnel toward the witch farm. Bones get split into stacks, with some fish along "in case you find a cat." It is the middle of the night, so they find the beds at the far end and sleep through it.
Cats first
In the jungle, the first animal that comes close is an ocelot. Basket holds out a fish and stands still, and it walks right over. "That's my first kitty." A second one follows the same way. Both get told to sit by the water so they will be easy to find later. "Twin marmalades."
The wolves are another matter. The pair split up through sheep fields and taiga, lose each other twice, and night falls in the jungle. A third cat will not come. Creepers do, along with skeletons, and one creeper ends up burning from a flame arrow. "We'll come back for the cat."
Empty forest
Past a deep ravine ("This is actually beautiful") they reach the open forest where the wolves were seen before. Nothing. On the recording: "This is the problem we had." They find the witch farm again, which at least means "we now know how to get home," and a witch hut with a second witch farm that was news to them.
A loop through a birch forest finds pigs and flowers. "I feel like we may be cashed out on our wolf hunt today." They put down a bed and sleep in the field.
Wolves at last
The next morning, near another cluster of sheep: "There we go. Wolves." Basket tames them with bones. One has its tail down, which means it is hurt, so it gets fed until the tail comes up. The warning is not to feed two at once, or "you're gonna end up with babies," and a puppy turns up in the pack anyway.
Doggy bath time
Getting them home is the hard part. The plan is water: Basket goes through the portal, and a dog pushed into water should teleport to its owner. The first try does nothing. The dog just swims, Basket has not gone through yet, and Lapis_Lauri cannot leash a dog that belongs to someone else. So Basket goes on through the portal, and Lapis_Lauri shoves the dogs off their half slabs into the water one at a time. "It's doggy bath time." They start showing up on Basket's side. The puppy gets stuck in a half slab for a moment, then comes through too.
Where it ends
The dogs end up on the quartz walkway at home. Basket still wants one of them to live in the nether, which will mean pushing it through a portal and carting it up later. Lapis_Lauri heads off: "I'm gonna let you continue on with your wolf adventure." After the end cards, the video closes on a few quiet seconds of a mob farm behind glass.
