From the Grave: Ragecraft 2 Episode 1

  • Published on

Team B.S. is back for the second Ragecraft map, Ragecraft 2: Insomnia by Heliceo, on Hard. Basket and Scoti start in a huge stone hall with the map's name spelled out in gold on the wall, a pile of signs, and a book of rules.

Rules and a troll chest

The rules are read out loud: no peaceful or creative, no cheats or mods, don't leave the map, don't place or break blocks in the monument hall, don't trade with bred or converted villagers, and don't break or place ender chests. The main objective is a wool monument, filled with special wool whose names are written in red. The bonus is a second monument for emerald blocks, placed in order from 1 to 16, each one paying out "a unique bonus item." Crafting emerald blocks from emeralds is allowed. "Okay, so that's not cheating. Cool."

They switch on the death counter, and chat reads "[@] Death Counter enabled." The signs say it's always daytime on purpose, the spawn point moves with command blocks, and the map is big enough that nobody should expect to finish it in less than 30 hours.

Then there's a chest marked "Diamond Tools," sitting in lava. "I think it's a troll, man." They break it anyway. "I got a diamond hoe!" Scoti walks off holding one.

Back to life

The real start is a dirt hole with gravel overhead. A sign says "You'll respawn in here if you die, so you probably should not place blocks in here." A chest holds a book called "Whispers" by heliceo, and story time begins. The voice calls itself "the creator of worlds, the bringer of pain, the master of rage" and says it has "brought you back to life" to finish the monument.

The graves come with gear, all of it moldy. There's a Moldy Handaxe with Efficiency I, a Moldy Sword, and a little bread. "Dude, you're grave-robbing from the get-go." Both of them earn "Getting Wood" from the stumps nearby.

Notes from the vampire hunter

A big chest of bones holds notes from a vampire hunter. "Vampires are weak, but they regenerate their health very quickly." The tip is to focus on one at a time. There are splash potions too. The Potion of Pestilence says it gives the target resistance, but the tooltip explains that it actually lowers it. There's also an Antidote that removes level 1 negative effects.

A sign outside reads "Area: The Last Sanctuary" next to "White Wool." They craft a table, make bows and find arrows. "We got bows, we got arrows. We're the men!" Then, "Oh, we don't have a pick yet."

Gravediggers

The graveyard past the sanctuary is dark and busy. There's a skeleton with no weapons, a spawner in a grave, a pumpkin with a torch in it, and creepers. Another chest gives up a Wooden Stake with Smite II, Looting II and Unbreaking I. The zombies here carry a "Gravedigger" name tag. One mob with nothing in its hands turns up with "a buddy in chain mail."

Basket's health keeps dropping on screen, and one of them is "almost dead." Arrows come in from the dark, and someone breaks a spawner. One of them gets a record.

Butter armor

The last stretch is full of cobwebs, with another spawner tucked in among them. Then comes what they call a "skeleton in butter armor," which gets loose. "He's gonna kill me." A shovel with Knockback drops along the way. The healing is slow on zombie flesh, and they call the episode there.

No one dies on screen this episode, and the death counter's sidebar never shows. The monument isn't shown either.
