Mad Dash: Ragecraft 2 Episode 116

  • Published on

The deaths sidebar opens at Scoti_Garbidis 133 and BasketMC 99. Team B.S. starts in the pillared hall with the checkered floor, the one that is "not our Nexus," and the plan is simple: run. "All right man, you ready to Thelma and Louise off the side of this cliff?" "Yeah, let's do it."

The dash

On "go" they're off, through water and over a stone path with fire burning on both sides. A check on the way: "You have all the wool, right?" "Yeah, I do." Then a warning: "Don't run on the grates." The walkway ahead has a strip of grates down the middle with lava glowing under it.

It doesn't stay tidy. "I'm on fire." "Yeah, I know. Me too." For a moment Basket's screen is nothing but lava. "Oh, I'm in lava. I'm in lava. Okay, I'm still alive."

Walled in

Next they're stuck in the dark. "Why can't I get up? Where am I? Is this real life?" Then the answer: "Oh, I have mining fatigue, I see." Getting out means pillaring up with whatever blocks are handy ("Did you pillar up?" "Yeah"), and black stained clay shows up in Basket's hotbar. "Oh, you're throwing this black clay at me." One of them admits, "I almost used the brown wool to plug up holes. That might have been a bad idea."

Up top there's a chest and a pair of signs: "Still trying to get out of here? Sorry, but it's not going to be THAT obvious. Nice try though ..."

Taking the high ground

Back out among the giant red mushrooms, running on the ground looks like a bad idea. "I think we should, I guess go, maybe take the high ground. 'Cause running on the ground was pretty dangerous." They're also "running out of health potions." The way forward is a bridge of clay blocks across the mushroom tops, and the materials run low fast. "I'm about out of material." "I have more." Before going on they split the load: "Let me give you some stuff. There you go. All right, here's the wool for you."

The path the map seems to want looks wrong to them. "I think we should not take the path that he wants us to take. I think that's probably trapped." Along the way Basket's inventory shows Gabriel's Justice from the last episode, and there's talk of "diamonds surrounded by lava" below.

Don't hit the brutes

There's a rule for the mobs down there: "These pigmen, I don't think are angry. The brutes are angry, but if you hit them, then all the pigmen are angry. So try and avoid hitting the brutes." On a scale of one to ten, the request is "zero pigmen on my path."

Right back where they started

Nothing over the netherrack and lava looks like a way out, and second thoughts set in. "Should have gone back the way you wanted to go." "Hindsight, it's always perfect." The new plan is to head back and try "the portal to the intersections" from the Nexus room. They work around the edge ("I'm gonna make this a one-way, so they can't follow us"), and arrive here: "Alright, we're back to where we did our Thelma and Louise at the beginning of this episode."

"Probably should call it here, man." They sign off back in the pillared hall. The credits roll, and nothing plays after them.

The sidebar closes at Scoti_Garbidis 133 and BasketMC 99. Nobody dies. No wool, emerald block or upgrade block is placed, and no arcane key is activated.
