The episode starts with an attempt at a dramatic intro in front of the volcano. A zombie walks into it. "At least it was just a zombie, not a creeper." The death counter opens at Scoti 55, Basket 45.
Charging the ladder
They already put torches down on this path, and the plan is to "charge straight in that ladder and light everything up." There's a spawner out on the rails, and fire everywhere. "I wish the fire would go away. It's the worst." They take the catwalk to stay above the lava, expecting skeletons below. A minecart, some bedrock, a baby zombie, and one of them standing in lava: "Don't say oh no." That same trip turns up a chest with a magic helmet in it.
The Brimstone set
They regroup, and the goodies go into a chest. The helmet has protection and fire protection on it, and so does a chestplate. "Cool. We found the set."
It's the Brimstone set: helmet and leggings in the chest, both Protection IV with Fire Protection. One chestplate is about to break, and there's no way to repair it. There's some teasing about the loot, too. One of them specifically asked for a really good sword to lose in lava, not good armor.
The pink potions are still in the inventory, and they still aren't healing potions. "Holy moly, there's the stupid wither potions."
Piggies and spawners
Down a tunnel there are little pigs and lava. The pig spawner goes down, and they block up behind them. There's gold on the wall, and a chest that looks like a trap. They open it on three anyway. It holds bad potions, and they leave those there.
Then two spawners on the left, another in the wall, and TNT-headed mobs. One of them runs into fire with no warning and is about to die, so the plan becomes pillar up and eat. The spawners get blown up with TNT, and a fire shrine sits up the hill. They're out of torches.
Lavaproof Pants
A chest with traps around it turns out not to be trapped. Inside are Lavaproof Pants: Protection I, Unbreaking III, leather. There is enough for both of them.
The tooltip spells it out: "If you are wearing all 4 pieces of this set, you gain Fire Resistance and the ability to survive inside the volcano." And at the bottom: "This item is required in order to obtain the gray crystal." So the volcano is where this is heading.
The Raging Imp
TNT-headed mobs are next. One of them explains the traps they have to use: a fire trap sets mobs on fire, and a TNT one drops TNT in that spot. Little pigs come from around a corner, and an Enderman wants in too. They go looking for the hidden door the pigs are using.
The last minute falls apart. "I'm about to die. I'm about to die." A Raging Imp is loose in the fire. "Scoti_Garbidis was slain by Raging Imp." Basket goes into the fire a few seconds later, and the same imp gets credit: "BasketMC was slain by Raging Imp."
The counter closes at Scoti 56, Basket 46. The monument isn't shown, so it stays at 7 of 16 crystals and 5 of 12 emerald blocks.
