"Welcome back for more Ragecraft 2 3 1 2 1 plus 1 plus 1." Close enough. The counter reads Scoti 72, Basket 71, and they pick up where they left off in Winter's End, past the first checkpoint, with a spider spawner right away.
Half a heart and a pair of boots
A fight on top of a spawner rack goes badly for one of them. "I'm at half a heart." "That's not good." "That was real not good for a little bit."
A chest under the rack has a legendary pair of boots, Aurian Boots: Protection IV, Unbreaking II, Void Protection IV, +20% max health and -10% speed. Nobody has heard of Void Protection. "Maybe you can't fall out of the world." "Maybe he made it up." One of them tries the boots on and drops them again because of the speed hit.
Spawners in the ceiling
The next rooms keep dropping things on them. Charged creepers fall out of holes in the ceiling, spider spawners hide up there too, and silverfish blocks line the walls. Jump boost pads give a buff that lasts "like four seconds," just long enough to make it down a level. One of them gets down to two hearts and drinks a potion. Any large painting gets broken on sight, in case something is hiding behind it.
Explosive trap times four
Then comes a chest with TNT in the middle of the room and a sign. "It says explosive trap times four." They kill the spawner, dig into the ceiling to check it, clear every block around the chest, and line up an escape. The chest breaks and gravel drops out of the ceiling, followed by charged creepers. The TNT was never primed. The "times four" seems to have been the creepers.
An arrow points down a hole, and the hole drops into a huge dark room. "This is like some kind of fortress of solitude weirdness." Charged creepers wait all around it. "This place was freaking me out, man." After a sweep they decide it "just was a room to mess with us."
Intersection time
"Boom boom boom, intersection time." A super jump boost goes up, and the checkpoint at the top is Intersection 4, with a sign reading "Teleport to INTERSECTION IV." "Shut the front door."
The intersection is all shops. The Arcane Blacksmith (master) sells armor upgrades. The Elementarist has Icebound gear, a Sanguine Blade with +15.75 attack damage and three seconds of Resistance II after each kill, and Yaaros' Inferno, a bow whose arrows set everything around them on fire. The Armorsmith has Epic versions of the Grandmaster's and Paladin's sets, and working out how they upgrade leaves one of them sad. "Now it's making me really sad for the Grandmasters, because I love that set."
The Last Bastion
It's story time too, read out loud: the Last Bastion, once home to "the mighty wizards who pledged to protect the world from evil." "I suggest you don't go out there. You won't survive very long." There are more arcane bombs, plus frost and flame traps, beds, and a chest of steak, fish and golden apples.
They hunt for secrets after that, chopping down a stack of wood in case a chest hides under it and torching everything. "I'm a torch fanatic." All they turn up is coal on the roof, some mooshrooms and slow sand. They call it there. Next time it's back to Winter's End for emeralds "and the crystal."
Nobody dies, so the counter still reads 72 and 71. The monument isn't shown, so it stays at 11 of 16 crystals and 8 of 12 emerald blocks.
