Last episode ended with a plan to bring iron golems, and maybe a snowman, into the Aris fight. This one opens with the Aris boss bar already up and a bow pointed into the hall. The counter opens at Scoti 177, Basket 132.
Keeping Aris immune
The hall looks emptier than before. "Actually a bunch of his guys are gone." Their guess is that the mobs despawned while one of them was logged out, though a named boss probably won't. Basket starts on the bow. The idea is to keep Aris worn down and stuck in what they call immune mode, so the other one can run back for gear. "I'm not wasting my arrows because I don't have infinity."
A chest of potions gets raided, strength among them. Chat keeps reading "[Aris] I summon you, creatures of the Exile!" and "You have been caught in Aris' death storm. Your Resistance and Regeneration effects have been removed."
Golems and a net
The golem plan doesn't go far. One of them has the golem stuff, but a snow golem gets built first "to see what would happen." Then Basket gets pulled into the middle and ends up on fire. Chat reads "BasketMC was slain by Dark Renegade (Melee)," and the counter goes to 133.
Basket was carrying the Monster Catcher. "I gave you the monster catcher." Its hook catches an enemy in a net that does damage over time and leaves cobwebs behind. Whether it caused the trip to the middle, nobody can tell. Chat reads "BasketMC was shot by Dark Renegade (Ranged)," and Basket is at 134.
The iron golems are no help either. "Iron golem can't even get close before the arrow guy shoots him." One of them doesn't even form. "Why did that not make an iron golem?" They also wonder whether Aris can take melee hits in this phase. Going by what they remember of withers, it can't.
Six potions
With no sword worth bringing, they head back to base for more potions. Basket's plan is to drink six of them, put on Depth Strider boots, drop water and jump in while the other keeps Aris low with a bow. "This is the plan just to fill everybody else in." "We have so many plans."
Aris goes immune and Basket goes down. "Lots of bad guys, lots of bad guys." It's hard to see anything. Chat reads "BasketMC was killed by magic," and the counter goes to 135. "That was all my potions." The fix is obvious in hindsight. "I should have done night vision."
Out of arrows
The next round is about supplies. The good bow is about to break with no levels to fix it, and the arrow pile is running low. They split up on opposite sides so the wrath has two targets, one of them plans to TNT the platforms, and a brazier is already close to destroyed. "I feel like we're gonna do it, man. I'm starting to get a good feeling here."
Lightning traps and an arcane bomb get thrown into Basket's inventory to clear the mobs under Aris. It burns through ammo fast. "I just went through like a stack and a half of arrows trying to kill those guys. I need infinity so bad."
In with night vision
This time Basket goes in with night vision. "Oh, I can see really, really well. Oh, there's so many bad guys down there." Basket nets mobs with the Monster Catcher on the way, and the webs stick around after the damage stops. It doesn't last. "You got four guys." Chat reads "BasketMC was slain by Dark Renegade (Melee)," and the counter goes to 136.
The healing is gone now, along with the health boost and absorption potions. "Will we kill them? Tune in next time."
Four deaths this episode, all Basket's. The counter ends at Scoti 177, Basket 136, and the Aris boss bar is still up. The monument isn't shown, so the totals stay at 15 of 16 crystals and 11 of 12 emerald blocks.
