Curiosity Killed the Scoti: Untold Stories 3 Episode 25

  • Published on

A sign promises another nifty shortcut, and the shortcut turns out to be a hole full of pressure plates. Scoti has to know what is at the bottom. The answer is not much, but the episode does end with something they have been missing for a long time: a wool.

You know what's down there?

It starts with spawners they would like to keep, two zombie spawners and a creeper spawner, and an accusation of sabotage: one of them was never handed any arrows. There is a pit in the floor. You know what's down there? The party. It is lava, so it gets covered, and nobody trusts the cover.

Poisonous spiders come through holes in the wall on both sides and get blocked in. There is another tree, and this time one of them jumps over the trap inside it.

Curiosity kills the Scoti

By the tree is a sign: another nifty shortcut. Someone drops square onto a pressure plate. Under it is another pressure plate, and under that a whole string of them. Curiosity kills the Scoti, the other one warns.

Scoti keeps digging anyway. He knows that line is going to be the episode title, he says, but it would not do the viewers justice to stop now. He ends up surrounded by TNT on every side. On the way down there is a sign that just says hey there guy, a chest with a poisonous potato in it, and a growing sense that this is one giant troll area. At the bottom there is nothing. Not even a gotcha sign. Sorry guys, I wasted your time.

The lever at the top sets off the TNT, which catches fire and launches itself around the room.

Jump blocks and cake

Further on there are murder holes on the left, a chest by the lava that is surely a trap, and creepers waiting exactly where someone would walk carefully along the edge. A sign says jump blocks. Nobody jumps. One of them runs at the other, who is standing next to lava, and player collision makes that a real concern.

A chest turns out to be full of cake, which does not stack.

Keep your hands off my precious wool

Then the signs get chatty. One asks if you are ready for a long adventure, not a really long adventure. Another lists the rules: never use peaceful difficulty, you cheater. Don't leave the boundaries of the map. Keep your hands off my precious wool. Don't touch my emeralds either. And why are you looking here? Go jump into a pit of lava. That was kind of mean, one of them says. Another sign welcomes them to a different map, still by renderXR.

Lime green, at last

And then, in the middle of all the trolling, the real thing: lime green wool. They bridge across the lava carefully, very carefully, which takes a while, and meet back at the monument. The wool goes up, emerald 12 goes in with it, and there are only two more emeralds left in that section.
