The emerald box hanging in the dark is still out of reach, and the barrier block level is still mostly invisible. This one gets them into the box, through more of the maze, and costs Basket a trip back to the start.
An ender pearl into the box
They can see the green box and the chest inside it, but they're just out of range. That's cruel. If you could become one block high you could get to it. Then the obvious answer: you can ender pearl to it. They break the glass, the pearl goes in, and it works. The chest inside has more ender pearls in it, plus potions and what looks like a diamond, which tells them it was a good idea. With a pearl in hand, the reasoning goes, he shouldn't die by explosion or lava.
There's still another emerald in the wall on the outside edge. That one is for later.
Trading bows and going up
One of them forgot to repair his shield, and wants to know who was supposed to remind him. A new bow turns up. The current one is Power IV, Punch II, Unbreaking II, so the old one changes hands. Torches are running low too.
There's a bit of science along the way: barrier blocks aren't spawnable spaces, even though a lot of this level is technically dark. That doesn't help with the zombies spawning right above their heads. A pillar built earlier to reach the spawners gets them up a level, where a creeper and a lot of poison spiders are waiting. They put a torch in the middle of every dead end. One of them nearly shoots the other, then does it twice. Somewhere back there, they agree, they obviously missed something.
The Frenzy Chopper and the Infernizer
The treasure chests in the maze are good ones. First comes the Frenzy Chopper, a golden axe with Sharpness V, Looting III and Unbreaking X. It can replace the junky swords, although one of them points out his stone axe already has Sharpness II. Later he isn't sold on it. It still takes several hits to kill things. So did the sword, comes the answer. But those were on fire.
Then the Infernizer, a blaze rod with Sharpness V, Knockback III, Fire Aspect III and Looting III. One of them now has Infinity on his bow and has fixed everything up, so arrows stop being a worry for him at least.
Don't watch the enderman
The poison spiders are very bad. One of them runs the wrong way, straight into the level, and has to heal up. Witches show up, a potion gets grabbed, and the advice is to not look at the endermen. It doesn't hold. BasketMC was slain by Enderman.
His stuff should be safe in a corner, next to a spawner that still needs killing. On the run back they talk about beds. They haven't been setting them along the way, and waypoints would beat running all the way from the beginning. They stop there, with Basket's stuff still on the floor for next time.
