Episode 2 opens with the same cards as the first, "GopherCraft UHC Season II" and one for each team, and then drops back into the little room in the hill. Basket and TChels are at their furnaces when the first bad news comes up in chat: "1minnyE was blown up by Creeper." TChels types "gg!" and Basket answers "gg :(". On the call: "Aww. That stinks."
Chest plates first
The iron from the first episode turns into armor. "Chest plates are the best," and boots come next. Then they go looking for more ore in the cave below the room, lighting it up as they go. It pays off fast: "Iron right there. Awesome. More iron." The cave also has a skeleton and a baby zombie in it, and "you're almost guaranteed to get hit by a baby zombie," so that part gets blocked off with cobblestone for now.
There is a plan for food, too. With one bone between them, they want to dig out a tall room underground and grow a tree in it. "I'm gonna do eight just in case, so it has room."
Witches and Endermen
The tunnels fill up with mobs: "Oh, creeper. And a skeleton. Run." Then, "Oh man, this is a bat area." TChels keeps digging with a skeleton right in the doorway behind, and somewhere in the scramble a bow turns up in Basket's inventory.
Then chat lights up again. "lostinthefort was killed by Witch using magic." A wall of "gg" follows from Basket, TChels, Virii333, Steel_Douglas, Scoti_Garbidis, PsychoSFK, pikerize and Gopherboy. Moonwillow92 adds "darn witches." Steel_Douglas asks "have we hit 20 mins?" and Basket answers "yeah."
A couple of minutes later it happens a third time: "optimus1971 was slain by Enderman." On the call: "Oh, no! Enderman? Wow." Soon after, PsychoSFK earns the [DIAMONDS!] achievement, and TChels calls it out in chat: "cheater!"
All armored up
Back at the furnaces, the ingots become an iron helmet and iron boots, and a few minutes later both of them are covered. "So now we're all armored up. Sweet."
The next cave is a big one. "I see lapis." A skeleton is waiting below, and then: "Oh no, there's a creeper here." It catches someone with its blast. "I wasn't that close to that creeper." By the end of the episode the scoreboard has BasketMC down to 20.
Gold in the dirt
The next creeper does not get a chance. "That time it didn't get me. Take that." The cave keeps giving: zombies, then gold in a patch of dirt, then more. "Gold right there." They count up eight gold ore on one side and an ingot on the other, then four more pieces turn up. "OK, so now I actually have 12."
Water meets lava
Deeper in, there is a lava pool with redstone along its edge and a waterfall nearby. That gives them an idea: "We could do water, lava, and make a portal if you wanted to." A bucket gets made, the water source gets scooped up, and where the water runs into the lava, black obsidian forms.
"40 MINUTES" shows up in chat, and the episode ends there. Basket is alive underground with TChels, in full iron armor, with a water bucket in hand and low health. The end credits thank TChels for being Basket's teammate in the Bandana Bandits and Gopherboy for running and hosting the event.
