Episode 2 picks up where the first one left off, deep in a dark cave with the furnaces running. Basket, Scoti_Garbidis and PsychoSFK never see daylight this time. The whole episode is a shopping list: pants, boots, swords, buckets, helmets, and something to do with the gold.
Pants first
The server is running a snapshot, so the team reminds itself that enchanting will need lapis. Iron is coming in steadily and the furnaces stay lit. Nobody has any armor below the waist yet, so pants come first. "We would all like a pair of pants." Basket gets a pair and the jokes about big boy pants follow.
Next comes the boots or helmets question. Boots win, because "boots are better than helmets" for the iron they cost. There turns out to be enough for iron swords for all three and at least one bucket. One of them would rather have the bucket than a sword. The bucket goes to Basket, and PsychoSFK gets boots and an iron sword. Over in chat, other teams keep earning achievements: Acquire Hardware, Time to Mine, Getting an Upgrade.
The spider behind the wall
A spider keeps circling near the mining spot and will not come close enough to fight. The team builds a "spider protection wall" and tries to lure it in, while finding lapis, redstone and a patch of gold. "That's 13 gold." One spider dies without dropping anything. Later another one leaves a spider eye.
A creeper takes another player
Around the twelve minute mark, chat shows another death: "dolinmyster was blown up by Creeper." A wave of "gg" follows from across the server, BasketMC and Scoti_Garbidis included. The Tab list later shows dolinmyster grayed out.
Lava everywhere
The cave keeps opening onto lava. One of them nearly jumps into it. A bucket meant to put out lava pours more lava instead. "Don't worry, everything's fine." With water and lava buckets they work across it and pick off gold and iron on the far side. There is talk of the Nether, since the team seems to be close to spawn, but the plan stays the same: more iron. The helmets get made after all, and the 23 lapis gets split between them.
One golden apple
The team packs up the furnaces and moves on to set up a forward base with a new furnace room, sealing the tunnel behind them. Then someone asks who has all the gold. The answer is a golden apple. A teammate hands it to Basket for leading the way so far, with one instruction: "Do not drop this." Basket keeps it off the hotbar for now.
The episode ends with all three still underground and alive, talking about how many buckets to make, when DarthTimmanis posts "40 Minute Marker" in chat.
