The video opens on a card that reads "Aftermath VOD 2016-07-13, Raiding Together." It's the seventh part of the same evening stream on the snowy map, and the last video in the Aftermath Season 2 playlist. It starts right where the last part stopped: Basket at the little fishing pool in the base, with the chat still scrolling the truce between narcolepticfox and Scoti_Garbidis.
An offer in chat
The title comes straight from the chat. "narcolepticfox: alright, how about i put away my pvp gear and we raid a building together?" Basket types back "we could, but we should wait until it's day?" and "and have food." narcolepticfox has an answer for that, "we can get food while raiding," then signs off for now: "alright, we'll be back for the day, see ya."
So Basket keeps fishing. "The fishing is not too bad," someone on the call says. "I mean it's kind of boring." Food is still short everywhere: "greightsects couldn't find any food."
New faces
The server keeps filling up. The chat shows "+ Davio_," and someone on the call meets that player outside. The verdict: "he seems friendly." Then "A new survivor, 2CubedTech, has joined the wasteland," and the call explains how to get in: "choose the pvp." Before long 2CubedTech is standing in the bedroom of the base.
Basket spends a long stretch at the furnace making charcoal for "a bunch of torches." The plan is to raid the building next door, and the call has a warning about it: "there's a creeper spawner that's on the same floor as us, across the way." Someone has slabs to bridge the gap.
Across the bridge
Basket walks out on the dark brick slabs toward the white building. A grave sign stands on the way: "[RIP] 14. Jul. cause of death: Slain by Horde." A creeper is already waiting on the far side.
Back in the bedroom, greightsects and Scoti_Garbidis are standing by the bed. Scoti_Garbidis is one half of that truce in chat. Then "narcolepticfox: i will follow you basket," and "you guys seem short on resources." The call agrees that the base's shared chests "have literally become everything that we depend on."
Raiding next door
The building next door is all white walls, bookshelves, carpet and chests. narcolepticfox and 17Peppers both turn up inside. So do the creepers. "Oh, creeper, I can't block with my sword." Someone on the call reports "I found iron ore," and adds that it's "just really really rare." greightsects isn't impressed with the place: "we need to find a building that doesnt look like a cheese grater."
The chat keeps its own count. "17Peppers found out what their terminal velocity was." "Runwyld fell to the hunger of the horde." "Davio_ fell to the hunger of the horde." "narcolepticfox took the easy way down." And one line sums up food on this map: "2CubedTech is dieing for something to eat."
Heading home
People start logging off. The call checks the rule first. Logging out only kills you "if you're marked with PvP." The chat shows technascribe, Runwyld and Nemsun leaving, one after another.
Basket ends up in a gray, half-wrecked room with a zombie in armor and is down to a few hearts.
Then it's back out onto the open snow, with the tall tower on the skyline, and down into the water beside the brick building. The video stops there, and the credits run to the end with no gameplay after them.
