This stream runs about 67 minutes. It opens on a card reading "Hypermine Vanilla VOD" and "Intersection 5" with no episode number, so the number here comes from the playlist. Last time Basket wired one side of intersection 5, the entrance to Basket Station on the smart rail network. Today is the other side: trains arriving from the west. JB_Warsmith and voodoobeard are on the server at the start, and jandoncom joins later.
The crossing at Spooktown
Before Basket gets started, JB_Warsmith asks in chat: "Now that you're on, could you fix the crossing at Spooktown too? :-p" So Basket rides out to look. Each side of the crossing has a wooden block with a button. The crossing counts how many carts go in and out, and each click clears one from the count. If someone hops out of a train partway, the count can be wrong and the crossing thinks a train is still there.
Basket runs a cart through, and the crossing works fine. "It's one of those things where you call tech support and everything's working fine." JB_Warsmith says the button doesn't work, so Basket puts four items into the counter to fake a train and has JB_Warsmith click it four times. The count clears. "Ta-da!" JB_Warsmith replies, "finally! xD"
On the way, Basket finds a house next to the tracks, and voodoobeard says in chat, "you can build under this house, no worries :-D". Since no rail will head north from there, Basket says the fence can come in closer, and maybe someday a road can dip down under a bridge over the railroad.
Digging under the arrival
Back at Basket Station, Basket digs under the arrival ramp to find the two hoppers that read the tokens. A cave opens up along the way. "We're going to pretend like this cave doesn't exist." Basket also says the station already holds all the cobble it needs.
The setup is Basket's usual intersection design, twisted a bit to keep the track up top close to the normal layout. Comparators feed droppers five blocks down, gravel under the rail gets held up while the wiring goes in, and a torch with a repeater inverts the signal. At one point blocks Basket broke fall into the register, and every train would have gone straight. Basket pulls them out. The caboose side gets a nine-repeater delay that clears both droppers after the train passes.
East tokens
At the anvil Basket names some cobble as junk, makes caboose tokens ("BR:CABOOSE") and types "BR:I5:E" for the new east token. A train coming from the west with that token skips the station and keeps going east. The register holds a set amount of junk, and the seventh item trips it.
An elevator for used tokens
Trains drop tokens at the intersection, and Basket wants to hand them back to trains going the other way. A hopper line carries them under the tracks to droppers facing up, run by a redstone clock with a torch pillar. "This is usually what I do for my item elevators." Furnaces go on top of the hoppers to cut lag.
The first test only gets the items partway up. With a longer delay, both reach the hopper at the top, and the tooltip reads "BR:I5:W."
Caboose tokens and a wrong turn
Caboose tokens need to go back into the main station's sorting system, so Basket starts another hopper line toward it, swapping blocks for furnaces as it goes. Near the end Basket stops: "I built this in the wrong spot entirely." The caboose line was laid where the returning tokens were meant to run, so Basket moves it to loop around. "I'm glad I noticed that."
The caboose tokens don't have an elevator on their end yet, so for now they just sit in the line. The credits run to the end with no gameplay after them.
