This stream runs about 58 minutes. It opens on a card reading "Hypermine Vanilla VOD" and "Basket Station Mall" with no episode number, so the number here comes from the playlist. The first floor of the mall has its first row of stores. This time Basket starts working out what goes on top of them. Basket is the only player on screen.
Checking the gate
First, a look back at the last stream's work. When the button is pressed, the blocks in the cart wall move out of the way in sequence and drop whatever carts are sitting on top. There's a built-in delay before anything happens, and because the pieces come up at slightly different times, the gate opens twice. Basket is fine with that for now, and may tune the slower side so they fall together. "At some point I'll time the delay and I'll put the instructions on there."
Planning the upper level
There are only nine quartz blocks in Basket's inventory, so the quartz work waits and other blocks stand in. Upstairs, Basket counts out the space over the stores. Thirteen blocks across splits into stores about six wide, maybe six by six. Smaller ones, around four by five, go on "the less pretty side," the one that looks down on the exit area. Basket isn't sure yet whether the upper floor will keep its bridges over the rails below or simply run across the whole gap.
The stairs from the quartz walkway cause the most trouble. They're meant to be three wide and end in quartz, but at the first try people would hit their heads on the floor above. Basket builds them in a cheaper block to check the height, then pushes the upper edge out two more blocks to make room. A bed menu in chat turns night into day whenever it gets too dark to see the build.
A railing and a window walkway
Along the open edge goes a fence railing. Behind it, Basket pictures a wide walkway, "maybe with some like seats and stuff to be able to look out the windows," and a wall with a big window. The spruce pillars stay. Granite goes wherever the floor can be seen from underneath. A ladder does the job of the stairs for now.
Back to the first floor
With the top roughed in, Basket goes back to the first floor on this side. Floors and walls go in, and spots that should be glass are filled solid because there's still no glass. Sand might come from the "Wasteland Mesa." Torches go down everywhere, and the blocks run out fast enough that Basket has to restock downstairs more than once. The stairs on this side end up only two wide. One section is saved for service stairs going up and down.
Lots left to fit together
"All right, so we made a lot of progress." The walls still need finishing, and Basket hasn't worked out how the second floor will join the other side, where a food court might go on top, or exactly how the stairs will work. The credits run to the end with no gameplay after them.
