Episode 3 of Minimalist finds Team B.S., Basket and Scoti_Garbidis, back in the complete the monument map by Kaladun. They stock up near the start, pick white as the first wool to go after, and head into Miniature Mountain. From there the creepers run the show. The deaths board starts the video at one each and ends it at four for Scoti_Garbidis and two for Basket, and no wool turns up on screen.
Supplies first
The video opens on a pale stone walkway lined with glowstone, Scoti_Garbidis up ahead. Chests nearby hold eggs, a bucket, potatoes, wheat and seeds. "This is like no CTM I've ever played," one of them says, and then: "I'll just re-plant all this stuff." Another chest gives a hoe named Scythe, with Smite III, Knockback I and Efficiency III. "I'm just not used to this kind of treatment."
Some of the haul goes into an ender chest, and the water bucket goes into a chest for safekeeping, since there is no iron to make another. Then the choice of dungeon. "Which one's normally the easiest? White?" "Yeah, white's first." That means Miniature Mountain.
Up the mountain
Torches out, they climb a snowy slope with zombies already waiting. Chests along the way hold cooked rabbit, cooked mutton and steak, plus an axe named Survivalist with Fire Aspect II. Emerald ore sits right in the snow, but a stone pickaxe is all they have. "We don't have iron." There is an iron pick back at the base, the recording says, so the emeralds can wait. A small wooden house with a chest comes next, then a ladder and a way into the caves under the mountain.
Creepers in the caves
The caves are tight, and the mobs keep coming: skeletons, zombies and a stream of creepers. "We should have made leather armor," one of them says. An iron ingot and some chain mail turn up in the chests. Then the chat line: Scoti_Garbidis was blown up by Creeper, at about 8:20, and again at about 10:00. Around 11:00 it is Basket's turn. The death screen comes up, Basket respawns back at the start with an empty hotbar, and walks back to the mountain.
Picking up the pieces
The blasts scattered gear across the cave, and "a lot of stuff is gone now." A chest and a crafting table now sit in the cave beside Scoti_Garbidis. "Your stuff's here in this chest." A new stone pickaxe gets crafted, and around 13:40 a creeper gets Scoti_Garbidis for the third time in this video.
Digging through a wall to reach the lost gear draws an objection, "No, come on. It's cheating," and later a shrug: "We got to do it the hard way." With a bow, Basket shoots at the creepers crowding a pit below, a spawner gets broken, and torches go down everywhere. Creepers keep pathing toward them anyway.
Where it ends
Some of the scattered gear is picked up off the cave floor. "Here, let me suit up," someone says on the recording, and a moment later: "You know what, man, that's the episode." Both players are alive in the cave with Scoti_Garbidis in view, and the deaths board reads Scoti_Garbidis 4, BasketMC 2. Then the end cards roll.
