Episode 11 of Minimalist sends Team B.S. into Compact Caldera, a cave of stone and lava full of blazes and skeletons on Kaladun's complete the monument map. Basket and Scoti_Garbidis find a hidden chest on the way in, then lose a lot of gear to arrows and lava. The Deaths board climbs from 7 and 5 to 9 and 7, no wool turns up, and the dungeon is still unfinished when the episode ends.
A chest under the pillars
The episode opens in the second intersection, a room of white pillars standing in lava, with the Deaths board reading Scoti_Garbidis 7, BasketMC 5. On the recording, "the sneaky and clever BasketMC thinks there might be something hidden in here." Water poured over the lava turns it to obsidian, which gives them a floor, and at the foot of one pillar sits a large chest. Inside, lapis lazuli is laid out in a ring around a golden apple.
Into the caldera
A sign at the end of a white hallway reads Compact Caldera. A ladder leads down into a dark cave of stone, redstone ore and lava, with blazes floating over it and spawners around the edges. One spawner goes quickly: "I'm taking out that spawner, okay, it's done." Then an arrow meant for a blaze hits the wrong target: "I was aiming at a blaze, and then you stepped out on the ledge by me." Soon after, the chat reads "BasketMC was shot by Skeleton." Basket respawns, walks back down and fills up an inventory again.
A bucket of lava
Scoti_Garbidis has a worse time. The chat reads "Scoti_Garbidis tried to swim in lava," and on the recording: "I had a bucket of lava on my bar. I don't know exactly what happened, but I may have just covered myself in lava." The gear ends up in "a giant sea of lava." The next trip ends the same way, this time "to escape Skeleton." One of them offers "lava facial" as a name for the episode. They pull back to the base to craft armor and torches ("I lost so many stinking torches"), and a pair of boots changes hands.
Pigs, apples and a lesson
Back in the caldera they find a walkway instead of jumping into the middle. One chest holds spawn pig eggs ("Ooh, spawn a pig") and flint and steel, which the commentary bets is "for a nether portal." Another gives nether wart, an apple and a golden apple. The loot gets run back to the ender chest, with a shout of "I've learned my lesson!"
Where it ends
Basket pushes on against the blazes and skeletons and runs short: "I just can't last long against all these guys." The chat reads "BasketMC was burnt to a crisp whilst fighting Blaze," and Basket wakes up in the base by the library and the ender chest. The walk back through the forest room and up the white path ends beside Scoti_Garbidis, with the dropped things waiting in a chest. Basket loads up, and they sign off with the caldera still unfinished and the board at Scoti_Garbidis 9, BasketMC 7.
