This episode is one short quest with a lot of fighting in the middle. Scoti isn't on the server this time. Basket's partner is another player, johnfal_92 by the nameplate, and the job comes from someone who is very clear about how legal their goods are.
A job from Blackjack Stan
Blackjack Stan opens with "Octavius told me 'bout ya. Said you'd do just 'bout anything for the right price." The reply options are "Make it a lot of coin" and "Not now, I'm busy." Basket asks for a lot of coin.
The story: Stan keeps "'legally acquired' goods" in a cave in the nearby mesa. A gravel cave-in buried them, there are too many spiders down there now, and most of it has rotted. An antique sword is still in there, and bringing it back is worth a bag of loot. The quest is Buried Blade, very short and medium difficulty, and it comes with a Smuggler's Key.
Into the Overgrown Cave
They follow the quest compass through the jungle, one of them taking a high road neither has been on before. The quest note says to look behind the gravel in the Overgrown Cave. "Is that the cave you said not to ever go in?" Maybe it's fine, since it's only medium difficulty.
It is not quiet. There's a spider spawner ahead, creepers dropping from spawners somewhere above, and poison spiders that blend into the ferns. Before going deeper they collect enough string for a combat bed, so a death would at least put them close by. Partway through, one of them is down to half a heart after a poison spider, and someone runs out of arrows with no idea where a whole stack went. Later something blows up right in one player's face. "I can't believe I didn't die." The pork chops get a lot of credit for that.
The locked button
They light up and break spawners until the back of the cave is safe enough to look around. There's a pile of gravel and a sign: "The button is locked, you'll need to hold a key to use it." The Smuggler's Key does the job, and the door turns out to be on a timer, so it's a quick press and go.
An antique sword
Behind it are chests, and none of them are trapped. One has an Alchemist's Helm with Fire Protection II and Blast Protection I, which at first glance looked like the luck helmet. Then the real prize: the Antique Sword, a quest item and a very beat-up gold sword. "It has one use left. I better not use it."
Getting out
"We survived. That is miraculous." Outside isn't friendly either. One of them is rubber banding, and a group of zombies sprints at them "like a scary movie," so they jump in the water. On the way back they find a boat and ride it along the river, which turns out to be the shorter and safer route anyway.
They split the bottles from the cave, 28 in total and 14 each, and head to Stan. "Ha, ya found it! Guess they don't call you buggers adventurers for nuthin!" Buried Blade is complete for 192 Enchanting Bottles and 1 Imperial Coin. Stan's parting words: "Good job before, couldn't've got that sword without ya. And I know I payed ya already, so bugger off."
