The main room is done, and two wings of the orange wool dungeon are left. One is the vertical one where the hard part is getting through the first room. Basket picks the other one, without being sure what's in it. "I'm afraid of both, actually."
Creepers are the problem
There are spawners on the left and right of the entrance, and both are already active. One of them makes the arrow guys. Basket doesn't think either is a big threat. "It's really the creepers that are the problem." Most of the fighting is the same routine as last time: hit what comes, take out a spawner, back up.
Arrows on fire make it hard to tell how many creepers are left. There's also a "big guy" from a slow spawner, and Basket wants that one dead before it gets close. Later it turns out one hit from it takes about half of Basket's health, which comes with a tip for anyone learning the game: don't let it hit you.
Basket lights up the hallway too, so there are no natural spawns in the way on a corpse run.
The spawner nobody can reach
Down the stairs it gets worse. A double stack of creeper spawners goes down, but there's another spawner Basket can't identify, lots of skeleton sounds from below, and more creepers than anyone wants. An Instaboom Creeper walks right up. Some of the creepers blow up from the other mobs shooting them.
Basket keeps trying to get to one spawner and keeps getting pushed back. "Can we finally take that thing out? No." The honest read: "This is hard to solo. Hard for me to solo." Basket's style is slow, hit and run back, more tanky than fast, and the room doesn't reward that.
Plan B: dig
Torches won't stop a spawner, so plan B is digging. Basket goes after a side room from the side instead of the middle, waits for its spawner to go off, and takes it out, digging cover so the skeletons can't shoot. After eating and checking the armor, which is "a little beat up," Basket blocks off a path and loots the chest. The inventory is full, so some things get thrown out.
A witch spawner
The last push is a bridge to a chest Basket has had an eye on. There's a witch spawner in the room that Basket wasn't expecting, and a skeleton spawner still to deal with. Basket gets poisoned, stays poisoned for a while, and fights from a dug-out spot in the wall, hoping the mobs shoot each other. They do, some.
A ladder leads up, and Basket calls it: "We have conquered this area." The chests hold arrows and some Concentrated Experience.
Maybe not solo
No deaths this time, but the run doesn't feel winnable alone. There's still a spawner, a room, and some stairs that are "probably crazy right now." Basket thinks it needs at least one other person, isn't sure anyone can join a run that started solo, and doesn't want to quit having already spent the money. The worry is finishing before the dungeon resets.
The helmet is almost broken, so Basket heads out to repair it and drop off the loot. This "may or may not be the last episode of this particular solo run."
