The deaths sidebar opens at Scoti_Garbidis 119 and BasketMC 92. The Hunting Grounds still aren't finished, but Team B.S. tries somewhere new: "I think we're actually gonna go into the Crumbling Abyss and try not to crumble into the abyss." The chat shows "Scoti_Garbidis Teleporting to: Crumbling Abyss," and Basket follows.
A floor that won't stay put
The entrance hands out a buff with a catch. "This is gonna give us mining fatigue for a tiny bit. So just know that for like 15 seconds or whatever, after you get this buff, you're not gonna be able to place blocks." "That's lame."
That matters, because placing blocks is the whole plan. The cave floor is a patchwork of clay, snow and lapis-flecked stone, and something keeps eating it. A spider crosses the clay, and the warning comes fast: "Careful, that guy makes holes." Their best guess is that the mobs "turn regular cobble even into silverfish." Rather than chase every gap, they build over it: "I would just do a second level."
The holes keep coming anyway. "There's a hole, the ground just disappeared next to you." One of them finds a spawner "inside of the lapis" and breaks it.
Harming potions and hungry wolves
The edges of the cave are no safer. "Where's it coming from, these stupid harming potions around the edge? Yeah, I get it. You don't want us to hug the edge."
Hunger from the Hunting Grounds hasn't gone anywhere either, so the wolves are still the food supply. "Oh, here's a wolf, here's a wolf. Come at me, bro. Give me your stuff." Basket's effects show the trade-off: Saturation IV on a timer, plus a Slowness II that one of them pins on the potion spawners. The inventory behind it is mostly stacks of clay.
A chest turns up along the way. The call is short: "Oh, efficiency book, yeah, cool. Helmet, nothing."
Building a wall
Ice guys, as they call them, and creepers start coming from the left, and the wolves' knockback is its own danger. "That's why I want to sort of fill in the whole thing, 'cause if you get knocked back then you just die." "Well, you're the boss."
So they add a wall along the edge of the new floor. "If they're gonna do knockback, then their knockback will be less efficient." It works, mostly. "Creepers want to be getting at us but cannot right now." One creeper gets close enough anyway: "He didn't wait very long, did he?"
There's some friendly fire too. "Trust me, I've only shot you twice this episode."
Digging out
To skip some of the ground, they tunnel. The plan is to go up a couple of blocks and make "a little peek hole over to the side to find out where the heck we are." Then: "I broke my shovel." While a new one gets made, Basket's screen shows Mining Fatigue again, then a run back through a blue-carpeted hallway, along the clay path and into the narrow new tunnel. "I'm in sandstone now."
They meet in the tunnel and call it there. The credits roll, and nothing plays after them.
The sidebar closes where it opened, at Scoti_Garbidis 119 and BasketMC 92. Nobody dies this episode. No wool, emerald blocks or upgrade blocks are placed.
