The deaths sidebar opens at Scoti_Garbidis 119 and BasketMC 92. Team B.S. is still in the Crumbling Abyss, still under the Hunting Grounds rule where saturation comes from killing wolves, and the episode starts with the supply running dry. "Oh, I'm out of wolf. I'm out of wolf." "Oh, that's bad." "Yeah, that's real bad."
No wolves to be had
The wolves stop showing up. One of them has a theory: "There's no wolves spawning, I think because there's too many mobs already." Then comes a run for the teleporter, counted out loud: "I got three hearts. Two and a half." "Down to the wire." It works out, and a splash potion is part of why: "I threw a splash potion for you, buddy."
The cave has its own named spider. A tag over one of them reads Terror of the Abyss, and a little later one of them catches the name too: "Terror of the Abyss. That's what the name of the spiders is."
Plan B is "we try and get through the level the way you're supposed to." "Come on, Potion of Swiftness, don't fail me now." "Swiftness, dude, this is the ticket." Getting more is the problem: "I hear a rumor that there's no nether wart this whole map." "I'm sad I drank it."
Stick to the right
The new rule is to stay near an edge where wolves can reach them. "Going through the wall, we're just gonna have a tunnel of death where we have to run back through." Basket's screen runs back through a blue-carpeted hallway to a checkered floor, and the effects list shows fresh timers.
The hiding spot doesn't last. One of them is down to "half a heart" and blames "the stupid harming thing," and the chat reads "Scoti_Garbidis was killed by magic." A moment later it shows "Scoti_Garbidis Teleporting to: Crumbling Abyss."
The trip back for gear goes badly, by their own account. "I went through the part where it gives you armor three times." "I don't have an infinity bow anymore." "I lost a bunch of splash potions." Soon after, the chat reads "Scoti_Garbidis starved to death."
A wolf trap
So they build a food supply. The idea is a gap one block high that wolves can climb through, then a block to close it. "All right, so we'll just break that and that'll be our food supply for now." It half works. A wolf climbs right up onto the clay next to Scoti.
The saturation doesn't always come with the kill, though. "I'm not getting the saturation. What's the deal here?" For a while the starving doesn't seem to hurt ("Is it because I have absorption?"), and then it does: "Oh God, it's gone now. Oh, I'm starving now." "We thought we had tricked the game into giving us free lunch."
Two wide and lit
Between wolf runs they keep pushing the path forward. "Just make us sort of a two-wide, yeah, we'll just keep on advancing it. And then light up as we go." The cave keeps going ("Oh man, this thing goes on forever"), there are "poisonous spiders like crazy down in the bottom," and at one point "the floor is disappearing" again.
It ends where it started, chasing wolves. "Did you get it?" "I got it." "Did you get it?" "I did not." Right before the credits the chat reads "Scoti_Garbidis starved to death." Nothing plays after the credits.
The sidebar closes at Scoti_Garbidis 122 and BasketMC 92. Scoti dies three times (magic and two starvations) and Basket doesn't die. No wool, emerald blocks or upgrade blocks are placed.
