Basket and Scoti pick up on the road where Episode 1 ended, one episode in and zero deaths. They say out loud that they don't want to jinx it. Episode 1 was mostly reading. Episode 2 is mostly fighting, and the map starts throwing spawners at them. The death counter still reads 0 for both of them at the end.
The ground is made of enemies
The first spawner shows up almost at once, marked with soul sand. Then another, and another on the right. Creepers come up the road, holes open in the cobblestone, and one of them calls out to kill everything in one hit. "The road is lava. The road is poison." They throw frost traps and wonder whether withered mobs still call for help. "We'll find out. Science."
One of them drops to one and a half hearts and switches from rotten flesh to melon. "First episode, pretty tame. Second episode, the ground is made of enemies." They also clear up that they're playing on Normal this time.
Spawners everywhere
Past a building with a big wool banner on it, the spawners keep coming. A skeleton spawner behind a ladder, a zombie spawner on the left, a spider spawner further in. The map marks each one with soul sand. They mostly light them up and leave them, since they can always break them later if they need the experience. One of them says the wooden shovel is "paying huge dividends."
Out on a bridge there's a skeleton with a Power bow. "It's busted."
Where did the frost trap go
The frost trap from Episode 1 has infinite uses, so it should never run out. Basket's disappears from the hotbar anyway. "Did you hit Q?" Neither of them knows. Maybe a glitch, maybe it got thrown on somebody. Either way it's gone.
Kissing spawners
There's a spawner inside a structure in the middle of the cave, and it isn't blocked off, so zombies just wander out. One of them pillars up with dirt while the other lights the walls. Then they find two spawners side by side, and the episode gets its name. "I know how your brain works, man. This ain't my first rodeo. You like it when the spawners are close together. You like it when the spawners kiss."
No emerald, but a sword
They were hoping for an emerald in the chest behind the spawners. There isn't one. There's coal, leather, cobblestone, pork chops and two named items. The Gilded Short Sword has Smite III and Unbreaking I. The Basic Coal Drill is a pickaxe with Efficiency I and Fortune I. Three string becomes a bow, the cobblestone gets split down the middle, and inventory space runs out badly enough that coal starts getting left behind. Basket ends the episode holding the sword and the drill.
Past the cave there's a bridge, some vines to take down and another building before the bridge. They agree to hit that building next episode.
