Village Sewers: Ragecraft 3 Episode 4

  • Published on

Basket and Scoti are still in the corrupted town, still fighting silverfish, and still at zero deaths. This episode they come closer than ever to breaking that, figure out how the map marks its emeralds, set up a farm, and find a way down into the sewers under the village. The counter reads 0 and 0 at the end.

Light them properly

It starts with one of them out of torches. The other hands over half. "That's half my torches." "Teamwork win." Silverfish are the main problem, and spawners are the second. Putting a torch next to a spawner isn't enough when it's still covered: "they're still spawning stuff."

A chest has arrows to split, sixteen and then nine more, and a pair of Bloody Boots with Protection I that end up in Basket's inventory.

"First death!"

There's a witch, a spawner hanging in the air, and then an emerald in sight. Then everything goes wrong at once and they have to retreat. "No! First death! Oh god!" It isn't. "I'm alive, I'm alive, I'm alive!" "Me too. Half a heart, man!" The food is running low too. One of them is out of melon, both are down to zombie flesh, and a cooked fish changes hands.

Green wool means emerald

While they heal, they work something out: the chests with green wool on top are the ones holding emeralds. After another round of silverfish ("the ground is poison"), plus a creeper and a spider, they block up the holes in the building and get to the chest under the green wool. Basket grabs the emerald.

Running it back

They agree to run the loot back to base, then argue about whether sprinting wastes food. The pro-sprinting side wins: "People are counting on us. They want to be entertained." Nobody has said "the d-word" yet. Base now has cauldrons, which gets the obvious worry: "I can't wait till we get teleported out of this area and none of it comes with us."

The armor is falling apart. One of them swaps worn magic leather boots for plain leather ones, and one of them crafts the other a new helmet and pants. Then a melon farm, up by the waterfall over the bridge, with a wooden hoe and some bone meal. One of them notices the small stone deposits seem to be the only blocks not infested with silverfish. A Bane of Arthropods sword is nearly dead.

Down the hatch

There's a spawner up in a tree, a creeper spawner inside a building, and water that keeps running downhill. They follow it down the hatch and into the sewers, where creepers are already coming up. One of them calls out a drowned townsman. They take out a spawner, check every corner, and guess there's a creeper spawner somewhere under the pile of creepers in the water.

"Do you have that blue freezey thing?" No. The frost trap is gone again. A skeleton gets line of sight, one of them runs out of arrows, a burning spider blocks the way, and they find an iron ingot. A spider spawner in the ceiling comes down. Across the sewer there's a block of wool with an emerald sign on it, and that's where they stop. "We're gonna get that emerald the next episode."
