Nexus Rapids: Ragecraft 3 Episode 16

  • Published on

They start in the Nexus with the death counter at 7 for Scoti and 3 for Basket, and with the first crystal and the first emerald block already on the monuments from last time. The tunnel to Intersection 1 is close by, and the water leads there. The episode ends at 8 and 3.

Boats or swimming

Before they leave, Basket checks a ledge on a hunch that there's a chest up there, and there is. It isn't trapped: wood and porkchops. Then the question is boats or swimming to the intersection. "Let's take the boats. Probably the wrong thing to do, but it sounds like fun."

Riding a wooden boat across dark water out of the Nexus, with the prompt Press LSHIFT to dismount

It is the wrong thing to do. One boat breaks. "I must have hit a rock or something." Items are scattered in the water, and one of them gathers up the other's sword. Then the chat says Scoti_Garbidis hit the ground too hard. A sign at the top had asked, "Are you brave enough to ride the boat down the waterfall?" "Thanks, Heliceo. You also murdered me." The best theory is a glitch where the boat went through the water and hit a block. At the next drop one of them decides to just swim.

Rapids, left or right

The cave opens onto rapids. "Rapids, left or right?" They go right. A skeleton stands on a platform in the middle because there's a spawner on it, and a side room has a creeper, zombies and an anvil. One of them wonders if they should save these spawners for "a special Basket major spawner dropper thing," since Basket likes building spawner grinders. They leave the crafting bench and the anvil for now.

Further down, a zombie spawner sits on a shelf and a creeper spawner is up high.

A chest that wasn't trapped

There's a double chest one of them is sure is trapped. It isn't. Inside are Overgrown Pants, which go on right away, and an Advanced Coal Drill with Efficiency I and Fortune III, better than the Fortune I drill they had. "Not coming back here."

Down the water

The path drops down a water column, and creepers start coming up it. They stash the good gear in a chest first, and someone puts down a Frost Trap. They also spot a weird burst and sound when a mob dies. That's the Arcane Strike upgrade from last episode, though it seems to hit the mobs around them rather than around the one that died.

A burst of white particles in a vine-choked wooden room as Basket fights on with only a few hearts left

At the bottom it gets rough. "I'm down to one heart here." Basket's screen shows only a few hearts. The creeper spawner finally goes down, and the side rooms turn up paper and a chest full of books. "That's a lot of books."

The vine room

Across the way, they break chests as they empty them so they don't check them again later. They lose a vine-covered room to creepers for a bit, and one blows up. "And there goes my sword." The chests there look trapped too, but they aren't. One holds a chestplate read out as Protection II, and one of them hands the other a cap. "I'll give you the good one."

With the platforms cleared they swim on past sugarcane and ledges toward a big tower with stairs up the middle and a building beside it. That building is for next time. Still 1 of 16 crystals and 1 of 12 emerald blocks.
