The death counter reads Scoti 18, Basket 5 as this one opens. Team B.S. is back in the lava cave below the Zepharin Sands, where last episode went badly. They decided not to make a second bucket, so one water bucket has to do all the work. The plan is the same as before: pour water over the spawners sitting in the lava, which seems to shut them off, and block up the holes the rest come out of.
The guard captain's blade
A chest near the spawners turns out not to be trapped. Inside is a blade that, by its description, "once belonged to the infamous leader of the Pharaoh's guard." It gives Resistance while held and +7.5 attack damage, with Sharpness II, Knockback I and Unbreaking V. They go back and forth over who should use it, and the condition is simple: "just don't die in lava."
Around the left wall there are creeper spawners, a blaze shooting through a bush, and a rail sticking out of a hole that nobody likes the look of. A chest has a splash Fire Resistance potion. Then a witch lands a poison hit, and one of them drops to one heart before the water and the blocks push things back.
A chest that's definitely trapped
The axe-carrying mobs are Zepharin Flamewalkers, and they come straight at the team "in an almost straight line." Past a door with signs, a big chest sits between two redstone torches. "This definitely has trap written all over it." There's a funny dirt pattern on the wall too, so they dig in from underneath instead of walking up to it. The chest is packed: a lava bucket, a bow with Flame and Punch, carrots, experience bottles. The lava bucket means they have a second bucket after all. The good stuff goes back to the checkpoint, because they're trying to save it for the end this time.
Stairs over the lava
The next fight is on stairs and ledges over the lava. Bow mobs keep trying to knock them off, there are spawners in the floor and holes in the ceiling, and one witch refuses to die until it gets knocked into the lava. "She is not dying in this episode." A chest up top gives a Sharpness II book, an Efficiency III pickaxe and a chestplate. Behind a mossy stone brick wall there's an emerald, and they grab it. A helmet breaks along the way.
The hallway trap
A lit hallway has a blaze spawner and an axe-mob spawner near its entrance. They decide to rush it. Partway in, the trap springs. "Water down! Water down!" The water saves them, and afterward they admit it was "an ingenious trap." They tear it out so it can't reset, and at the end is the Orange Crystal. One of them thought they were after the Magenta Crystal first, but both are in this area.
Back at the Nexus
They run for the Nexus and place the Orange Crystal: "You have defeated: Zepharin Sands (1/2)." Then emerald block number two. The reward chests hold a chestplate, read out as the "hate plate," that gives Strength II while your health is below five hearts, plus a bedrock upgrade block, two golden apples and some glowstone.
The upgrade was talked over ahead of time: Life Drain or Frenzy. With Scoti at 18 deaths, they still figure they're doing pretty well compared to past maps, and they go with Frenzy. Chat confirms the Basic Frenzy upgrade is unlocked. Nobody dies this episode. It ends at Scoti 18, Basket 5, with 2 of 16 crystals and 2 of 12 emerald blocks on the monuments.
