Leap of Faith: Ragecraft 3 Episode 26

  • Published on

The death counter reads Scoti 16, Basket 5 as this one opens, and Team B.S. is up on the cliffs above the Zepharin Sands town. A skeleton wanders the ledge without tracking them, creepers keep turning up, and there's no clay on the hills to mark a creeper spawner. Then they spot something odd: a chest sitting on a glowstone block way up over the void.

A chest on the glowstone

It feels like a trap, though neither of them can say what kind. Scoti goes up after it while Basket watches from a distance. "Before you open it let me know and I'll cinematically watch you blow up." Nothing explodes. Breaking the glowstone gives a ton of glowstone, some steak, and a shovel with Efficiency V, Knockback III and Unbreaking III. Its description says it is dedicated to an explorer who "enjoys long walks" and "swimming in lava." The find makes them think there's another floor in the palace they haven't seen, or more down in the hole.

The leap

"I say we jump off of here into the water. That'd be cool." The landing is a jungle leaf instead, and the chat reads "Scoti_Garbidis fell from a high place." "I did not jump like a jumper. I jumped like a non jumper." Basket, still up top, jumps a bit later, aiming for the water and away from the trees, and makes it. Scoti's gear is all over the place, a lot of it stuck in a tree, and a zombie has picked up one of the swords. They set up a chest by the booby-trapped wheat field, sort out who has what, and head for the hole. "The princess is in another castle."

Sand over lava

The hole opens into a cave full of spawners. Skeletons without bows come from a pair of them, two more aren't active yet, and there's lava everywhere. One floor of sand drops away in a checkerboard of holes into the lava below, and a creeper falls in and blows up. It's a sand lava trap, spotted before anyone stepped on the wrong square.

Spawners in the walls

A blaze spawner sits by a natural bow skeleton, with two more spawners hidden behind vines in the wall. The plan is to pour lava over part of it. The blaze spawner goes down, and then a creeper spawner. The mobs here seem to have fire resistance. A red block in the back gets read as a sign of a rare item.

Burned

More blazes come back, mobs start dropping in from above, and it gets out of hand fast. "Scoti_Garbidis burned to death." Most of the gear lands in or near the lava. Basket was heading over with water to help when mobs started landing on that spot too. Scoti respawns and has to find the way back, going through the Nexus twice on the way. With a bridge built out over the lava from borrowed blocks, most of the stuff comes back, including the good shovel. Most of the armor was nearly broken anyway, and only the pants survived. They'll get more water buckets and meet back down there next time. The episode ends at Scoti 18, Basket 5, with the monument still at 1 of 16 crystals and 1 of 12 emerald blocks.
