Tai-Chang: Ragecraft 3 Episode 34

  • Published on

"Welcome to the middle of the episode, everybody." Team B.S. picks up deep in the jungle behind Grandmaster Xin's dojo, with the counter at Scoti 24, Basket 15. An emerald is safely back in one of their inventories, the inventories are stuffed, and there's still a poisonous spider hanging around. One of them accuses the other of taking a bucket, then finds it and apologizes. The potatoes are another matter.

The Rogue's Knife

A mob with a Swordmaster name tag is down here too. Under a red block with a sign sits the next legendary item, the Rogue's Knife. Its lore: "A good assassination takes one year to plan and one second to execute." If you haven't attacked anything for 12 seconds, you gain a Strength buff, and the buff ends two seconds after your next hit. They also pick up an Assassin's Hook, a fishing rod that should work as a grappling hook, at least in theory.

Then it's spawner work. A poison spider spawner and a creeper spawner get broken, and a chest that looks suspiciously untrapped really is untrapped. It holds a splash potion of swiftness. A lit tower and a plus-shaped marker across the way look like a checkpoint, and a side room gives up an anvil.

Your way or mine

"Are you taking my way?" "Yeah." They end up on opposite sides of a cross. The "yeah" turns out to mean nothing in particular, but the bad guys on both sides die anyway, so they count it as a plan.

The first mad sensei

A mob with purple sparkles tries to get up to them. "Tai-chang! You're going down!" It doesn't go down. It runs, hides in corners, catches fire, puts itself out, and moves every time one of them lines up a shot. "What a wimp." Neither of them can get a clean shot. Eventually the arrows land, and Basket's chat reads "You have slain a Mad Sensei." That's the first of the three Xin wants dead.

They argue about whether it will come back. One guesses it will respawn in about five minutes; the other thinks it's a boss. They light up the room it came from anyway, and craft a pile of torches from all the coal they're carrying.

Out of arrows

There's a chest down below that's too tempting to skip. Two more spawners sit under the ledge, full of bow mobs, and they get shot "from every angle." Both run out of arrows and go toe to toe, and the spawners come down to a pickaxe. The chest at the bottom pays out spider eyes, a potion, apples and a pair of Amphibian Boots with Depth Strider II and Unbreaking III.

They call the episode there and plan to run the emerald back. Nobody died this time: the counter ends where it started, at Scoti 24, Basket 15. One mad sensei is down and two are left, with the monument still at 3 of 16 crystals and 2 of 12 emerald blocks.
