Grandmaster's Cap: Ragecraft 3 Episode 39

  • Published on

Team B.S. picks up in the jungle cave behind Grandmaster Xin's dojo, still clearing what's left of it. The death counter opens at Scoti 30, Basket 19. Basket takes out a spawner on the way in, and a bunch of creepers come with it.

A chest and an emerald

A chest gives up a pick that "breaks stuff faster," a speed potion, bottles o' enchanting and an iron sword, which one of them keeps as a backup. Then: "This is the emerald, I think." Getting it means going into the dark, and they need torches or anything to light with. There are creepers in there for sure. One of them gets down to half a heart, the vines keep getting in the way, and someone glitches into a wall. By the end of it, "all the spawners are gone."

The dad voice

Now the question is what to do with the emerald. The legendary weapon sits on a dark platform right above them, ringed by skeleton and creeper spawners, and Basket does not want the emerald going up there. "Stop what you're doing, don't..." Basket really wants a regeneration buff, and if they lose that emerald, the buff has to wait. Scoti's verdict: "You used your dad voice on me."

Then a creeper. "Scoti_Garbidis was blown up by Creeper," and the counter reads Scoti 31. "On the bright side, the spawner's gone." Scoti's worry is the bow, a flame one, and some of the gear has dropped down a level, where a witch is waiting by the pile.

The Grandmaster's helmet

Sorting through the stuff, they find the helmet for the armor set. The episode title calls it a cap; the tooltip says Grandmaster's Mask. The set gets better the more pieces you wear: Speed I, then Jump Boost IV, then Resistance I on top. Scoti had the chest plate in the inventory but probably wasn't wearing it.

With pieces on, Basket's screen shows Speed and Jump Boost IV. The plan is to hold the pieces separately until they have the whole set.

Off to Wu-Zheng

They figure they've otherwise conquered this area, so it's on to Wu-Zheng, "the fireman," as they put it. One tough spider and another creeper later, they're at the entrance and badly short on torches. They agree to go back and get some. When the camera picks up again, the counter reads Scoti 34, Basket 19, three Scoti deaths that happen off-screen.

Lava and blazes

Geared up, with fire gear that for one of them is just boots, they head down the hallway. There's a pedestal, a jump, and lava openings on both sides. Blazes sit off to the right. One of them pours water over the lava while the other goes after the blaze spawner, with an Assassin giving chase. A creeper almost goes off before it loses interest.

Ahead and slightly to the left is another legendary weapon, guarded by mobs that seem to carry a stick that sets you on fire. It's tempting, but they leave it for next time. The monument stays at 3 of 16 crystals and 2 of 12 emerald blocks, and they still need one more emerald for that regen buff.
