The Last Sorcerer: Ragecraft 3 Episode 58

  • Published on

With Little Mines done, Team B.S. follows the rail toward the next area off Intersection 2, The Last Sorcerer. Somebody has to stop and eat right at the start, and the first verdict on the place is "it's a trap. Oh boy." The death counter opens at Scoti 37, Basket 33.

The story of the academy

The area's story is read out on the way in. "When the darkness came, the leader of the sorcerer's academy was possessed by madness. He decided he shall become the only sorcerer in the world, and that all magic shall be his alone." The leader killed every other sorcerer, "locked all enchantment tables away in the basement," and covered the academy in an aura that stops magic splash potions and certain enchanted items from working.

Nobody knows if the aura goes away. They take one clear lesson from it anyway: "the most important part from that story is we must go to the basement."

A rail line runs up to a tall stone tower lit inside a cave, where The Last Sorcerer area begins

An elemental zoo

One room is a row of glass cases with signs. "Oh, ice elemental, fire elemental, lightning elemental. Oh, I don't like this." Earth elemental makes four, and one of them adds a fifth, "the Scoti elemental." They're sure they'll end up trapped in there. One of them explains elementals as "bad dudes who are made of the essence of fire and earth and wind," which earns a "Captain Planet" in reply.

Then the residents get out. A witch shows up, "very upset with us," and there's a charged creeper too. The ice ones slow you down, and it turns out that isn't from hitting them: "They have an aura." Stairs lead both ways, so they block the ones going down and head up instead. "It's just like the song says, Team B.S. is the best."

Potions that explode

The floors above are full of paintings ("don't trust anything"), bookshelves, charged creepers and witches. There's a spawner under the stairs. One of them gets poisoned by a witch and drops low on health. Using a healing potion goes badly too: "I might have blown up in my face."

They work out why soon enough. "When the witch throws a poison potion it makes it explode. Any potion explodes." That's the aura from the story, and it makes this tower very different from the earlier areas.

The stairs up are gone, so one of them pillars up and gets "lucky on where I ended up." A bow is about to break. From a ledge on the outside, they spot a spawner and take it out ("I think that was a creeper spawner"), and slowly that floor goes quiet.

Killed by a Grenadier

The next floor up is rougher. There's a ladder that won't let anyone down ("let me down, let me down"), and the chat settles it.

A library room of bookshelves as chat reads "Scoti_Garbidis was killed by Grenadier using magic" and the death counter shows Scoti at 38

Nobody is sure how to say it. "Grenadier? Grenader? How do you pronounce that?" They figure the witch-like mobs are the Grenadiers, and they throw bombs and set things on fire. Scoti's gear is in the room above where the charged creeper spawner was. Water puts out the fire and washes some of it down, and the rest is "at least for the most part, here." The skull turns up too.

Calling it

With the witch spawner gone, the floor is mostly safe, though the fire elementals are still spawning (and they have thorns). Both of them need new pickaxes, and a pile of half slabs should come in handy. They store a few things in a chest and decide to sort the rest off camera.

The counter closes at Scoti 38, Basket 33, with the monument still at 6 of 16 crystals and 3 of 12 emerald blocks.
