The Lime Crystal came home last time, so Little Mines is beaten. This episode is the cleanup: back down into the valley for whatever spawners and emeralds are left. The death counter opens at Scoti 37, Basket 33, and it doesn't move.
Max spawns
They take the vines down and drop in fast. One of them has brought a Fortune III pick along. "Oh man, this pick is so good." The advice that comes with it is to remember it's a fancy pick, so don't burn it on regular digging or on breaking spawners. A minute later: "I'm doing the thing that you told me not to do by the way with my pick."
The rest of the level is already lit up, so every mob that can spawn is spawning down here. Creepers drop out of the trees. A zombie spawns in around a corner. There's a skeleton head on a spike, a spawner still hidden up in a tree, and cobwebs everywhere.
The witch alcove
Up to the right, by the skeleton heads, there's a little alcove with a witch spawner in it. A skeleton falls out of the sky. "What the heck?" A room past it has creepers and a witch, and the frost traps get thrown around while one of them tries to "shoot but not shoot you." One creeper falls to its death on its own. "Get rekt!"
Spawners go down one after another, two creeper spawners by one count, and maybe the witch spawner too. Someone stays poisoned "for a long time." There's some gold. Then they split up to search, since there's probably another emerald somewhere and nobody can see where.
The dark corner
The search turns up "a place of darkness" off to the left, with a building up top. It's dark for a reason. "Oh, there's an emerald in this house." Then: "Run away." There are creepers everywhere. One of them is glad to have built a little path earlier, and the plan becomes getting down to one level so the mobs have to come at them there.
It works. The emerald turns out to have a spawner in the room with it, which gets broken, and then it's "emerald time." More spawners sit around a line of redstone with a chest nearby, including a scout spawner, and a witch lands a hit before it goes down. That witch drops a healing potion. "That was pretty cool."
A shrine on the way out
A bridge leads off toward a lit area with signs, and the path past it looks like a shortcut out through the mushroom stuff. They dig through some carpet and come out at the intersection. There's a chest with a book in it, and it describes a mining shrine: sacrifice two lapis lazuli blocks by placing them on top of two obsidian blocks, and the gods grant every player Haste I until death. It can be used as often as you like. The book stays in the chest. "That's pretty powerful." The stone pickaxes in the decoration are free, too.
Six emeralds
Back at the base, they pool the emeralds. "You have two, I have two." The chest ends up with six in it, which they call "two thirds of the way to the next" emerald block.
Nobody died. The counter closes at Scoti 37, Basket 33, with the monument at 6 of 16 crystals and 3 of 12 emerald blocks. The skeleton skull comes off at the very end, because it "wigs me out."
