The episode opens in front of the Ice Shrine, with its sign read out: "The four elemental shrines provide the sorcerer with extra powers. The more shrines you destroy the weaker the sorcerer becomes." So the plan is simple. "We want to blow this up. Right away." The death counter opens at Scoti 38, Basket 33.
Two shrines down
The button gets pressed, and chat confirms it.
On the way out, one of them apologizes for breaking the Ice Warden spawner. Nobody minds: "I don't anticipate coming back here." The drop pile includes a sword with fire aspect and looting, "but it is stone." Junk goes into a chest, and they swim back up a column of water, past a charged creeper waiting on the other side.
The next stretch is wide open and nasty. There are charged creeper spawners, "and they kind of like launch up from the spawner." The creepers shoot up out of holes in the ground, and later out of the ceiling too. Smooth quartz on the floor marks where they come from. Poisonous spiders are mixed in. One of them has already found an emerald up top and put it in the box.
In a corner with cobwebs there's a chest with "literally just a piece of coal" and some speed potions, and past it another shrine. "You have destroyed the Lightning Shrine."
Gabriel's Bulwark
Next to the shrine sits a chest under a sign.
It's a piece of armor with Protection, Blast Protection and Unbreaking. When your health drops below 2 hearts, you get a shield that lasts 8 seconds and soaks up to 4 hearts of damage, on a 15 minute cooldown. "That's pretty cool though."
Then a choice. The story said the magic is in the basement, but the sorcerer could be at the top. They go up through the tower. If there's "a real bad dude" up there, they can always come back after the magic.
Blown up
The climb starts with taking the water out and a blaze spawner on the bridge. A pressure plate in one room gives a resistance aura. Then a charged creeper spawner, a witch behind one of them, and the old problem from the sorcerer's aura: "I want to heal but I can't because I blow up if I do." The ladder catches fire. "We're the best at making ladders."
Not long after, it goes wrong.
Less than a minute later, chat shows "Scoti_Garbidis was blown up by Lightning Elemental." Some of the dropped gear fell into fire. The recovery is frantic ("Operation, please let your stuff survive"), with a charged creeper hanging around a loose emerald. The frost trap, an arcane bomb, water buckets and a tribal bow survive. "I got Grandmaster's pants back!" The emerald doesn't make it: "I think we lost that emerald. I'm sorry."
Fire and witches
Higher up, the witches fight each other and have thorns, which is "so annoying." The fire spawners keep going.
Then chat reads "BasketMC was slain by Fire-Elemental." Up top, the sandstone they're standing on gets blown away under them. There is some good news, though. "Oh, another emerald. Nice." A witch drops a healing potion, and a water bucket helps push mobs back.
They find a room that's safe enough and stop there. The counter closes at Scoti 39, Basket 35. The monument is still at 6 of 16 crystals and 3 of 12 emerald blocks.
