With The Last Sorcerer beaten, Team B.S. heads for the next area off Intersection 2. This one is Mount Cinis, and the first order of business is how to say it. They pick the version that sounds better, even if it might not be how the letters go. The death counter opens at Scoti 48, Basket 38.
The mine ride
A button starts a minecart ride into the mountain. A sign on the way in says "For balance reasons, it is not possible to collect gold nuggets in this map," which they take as a hint about who is waiting for them. Pigmen, maybe. More signs follow: "Important," and "highly explosive monsters ahead."
The story signs explain the place. A mining company set up on top of a dormant volcano. When it finally erupted, a few miners got out, but most burned to death or were suffocated by the ash. Now it's home to hellish creatures, "some of them as unstable as the volcano itself." The inside is so hot that regular fire resistance won't save you, so the miners left some special gear behind.
That gear is a chest of Extinguisher splash potions, which give fire resistance and regeneration for 15 seconds. They each take two. There are knockback clubs too, and one of them grabs one "just to see what's up."
TNT heads and lava holes
Right away there's a mob with TNT on its head. Nobody is sure what sets it off. Maybe it blows up when it dies. One of them clubs it, the other takes out its spawner, and they agree to keep moving and beat the game.
The ground is the bigger problem. There are one and two block holes that drop you straight into lava. Then small pig mobs show up. They run faster than you, so you can't get away, you have to kill them. Scoti doesn't see one coming, gets smacked, catches fire and can't get water out in time. "Scoti_Garbidis burned to death." That's 49. Most of the gear gets picked back up, and there's talk of having a word with Heliceo about the level design.
No stone unturned
Inside the first building, a spawner goes down, blazes wait upstairs, and the loot is good: a cool sword, a cool axe, a fire protection helmet and the rest of the Extinguishers. There's iron and coal sitting in the middle of a lava lake, saved for later. There's quartz for comparators too.
Up top they find a fire shrine and a redstone torch that turns out to be decoration. "No stone unturned, that's our motto here on Team BS." The lava up there hides another spawner, and archers with fire resistance spawn right inside the lava lake, so it will need water at some point.
A chest gives up a fire aspect book and a bow. The book stays in an inventory until they have a base to drop things at. The Tempest Bow, Power II and Punch II, gets offered to whoever wants it.
Fifty
Then a witch, the wrong item on the hotbar, and a lot of running. "Scoti_Garbidis fell from a high place." The counter hits 50: "50 deaths. Congratulations." They can't agree on which anniversary that is.
Getting the gear back is messy. One of them is poisoned, another is down to just a helmet for armor, and potions are split into separate stacks all over the inventory. Some of it goes into a chest. Then a gold nugget shows up on the ground, the same nugget the sign said couldn't be collected.
Into the pig house
The building ahead is where the pig mobs live. They cut their own way in, barricade behind themselves and try to be quick about it. Zombies pile up, the pigs come at them, and somebody lands a hit on the wrong teammate in the scramble.
"Scoti_Garbidis was slain by Imp." The counter closes at Scoti 51, Basket 38, three deaths for Scoti in one episode. The monument isn't visited this time.
