BasketMC

Overgrown Hollow Part 3: Uncharted Territory 3 Episode 3

  • Published on

The third trip into Overgrown Hollow is mostly a fight with one room. Creepers keep coming from somewhere nobody can find, and by the end of the episode the death counter reads Basket 5, Scoti 2.

Two creepers before the intro

The episode opens on a death screen: "BasketMC was blown up by Creeper." Scoti does the intro, and within a minute another creeper goes off and the same line shows up in chat again. Basket wakes up next to the bed they set as a spawn point.

Everything gets dumped into a large chest by the bed so it can be split up. There are no arrows. Torches, wood and blocks get halved, and one of them keeps a weapon they call the Lacerator. The big question is where the creepers are coming from. "Where is the creeper spawner? That's what's blowing my mind right now."

Shot by a teammate

One of them checks a catwalk while the other opens a chest: torches, wood, an axe, a shovel, leather, a feather, pork, golden boots and a leather helmet. There's a skeleton spawner below and a creeper spawner in the dark. "I lit it up and then I knocked the torch off."

Then the chat reads "BasketMC was shot by Scoti_Garbidis." Somebody apologizes right away. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I panicked."

Who picked Hard?

The gear scramble after that is rough. One of them is fighting with a wooden pick, down to two hearts, and eating watermelon ("I hate watermelon, it's so slow"). A sword breaks. For a while they think the Lacerator was lost in a creeper explosion, until it turns up by the bed.

"Who picked Hard? Was that your idea?" "No, that was not my idea. It was totally your idea."

They decide to leave most of their stuff in the chest, since dying keeps sending them back there anyway. The rulebook can stay too. If they forget a rule, they can watch their old video.

Torches and then probably die

The new plan: "Run in with torches, nothing else, throw them all down, light stuff up, and then probably die." "Sounds good."

It mostly works. A skeleton shoots a creeper but doesn't kill it. Cookies don't heal anyone, and they blame the saturation. A zombie gets Basket, but "it's fine, I don't have anything on me." Someone opens a gap the spiders can get through, which goes badly. "I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die." Then: "Why are we doing this?"

Six torches change hands, and the spider spawner and the creeper spawner both go out. "We probably could have turned that into something cool, but it's too late now." The room is lit well enough that they stop breaking spawners.

A brick that shouldn't be there

A single red brick sits in a stone wall. Nobody put it there. Behind it is a chest with ladders, cobblestone, torches, pork, leather and a pair of leggings. "Projectile pants. Those are my favorite kind." Also: "I cannot carry any of this."

There's still a creeper spawner across the way, but they're about 18 minutes in, so they call it there.
