The episode picks up in the middle of a fight, with a creeper, a poison spider and somebody who is not healing. The rest is more of the same in the vine-choked ruins of Overgrown Hollow: spawners everywhere, swords that break, and a long walk back after a skeleton wins.
Down to wooden swords
They haven't settled how long an episode should be. "We just did one." The answer they land on is to roll with it and let the adventure decide.
The adventure decides on spiders. There is a spider spawner, then another, then two more. One gets torched, one gets broken, and then an iron sword breaks. "I have no sword." They fall back to the crafting bench and make wooden ones, and a spider pops out of a pile of bushes right in front of one of them. The crafting bench goes missing for a minute because someone picked it up by accident. A bow gets passed over along with every arrow they have. That's two.
A map with intersections
While they walk, one of them explains how these maps usually go. It's like an adventure park, with intersections, and a wool at the end of each path. This stretch might be an optional side area with good supplies, so they shouldn't skip it. Or the white wool could be somewhere before the first intersection.
A chest hidden in the cobwebs has string, a few arrows, a golden apple and chain boots. One of them asks to take the boots. "Yeah, go for it."
The creeper pit
Next is a pit with vines running all the way down and a creeper spawner at the bottom. The guess is that it's a trap: fall in, and you slowly realize what you're landing on. They break the spawner. The bottom turns out to have a whole corner full of melons, and one of them comes away with more than a stack.
Getting back up is harder. "I panicked on the way, and so I broke all the vines going up." They dig and pillar their way out, and the apology gets accepted. "You were trying to save me, man. I appreciate it." Some of the walls turn out to be silverfish blocks. Punch one and it breaks like you're using a pick.
Shot by a skeleton
The next room is big. Zombie spawners on the far wall, a creeper spawner, and a catwalk with a chest and signs up top. They talk about an XP farm someday and about how far the run back would be if anyone died. They'd like a skeleton spawner, since arrows would be awesome.
The skeletons have other ideas. One has a magic bow. Basket goes down, and chat reads "BasketMC was shot by Skeleton." That makes it two deaths each. The respawn is at a sign that reads "Quick Travel, Overgrown Hollow (One-Way)," with an empty hotbar. "That's a long ways back, man." Nobody has made a bed yet. "We should have made a bed, dude."
The Lacerator
The trip back means more skeletons, including the enchanted one, which one of them thinks they knocked off a ledge. Someone is down to six arrows. The boots that got dropped are recovered ("I've got your boots over here"), and a bow comes off one of the skeletons.
Up the world's derpiest stairs is the chest with the sign: Lacerator Level 1. Is that something bad? No, it's good. It was in earlier maps too. It's a pair of shears with Sharpness I, Knockback I and Fire Aspect I. You don't want to use them on things that eat durability, but they work like a cool sword. Who's going to use it? "It's all you, man."
Torches and a bed
They pool what's left: 11 wood blocks, three pieces of coal, 18 torches. How are they doing on time? Eighteen minutes in. They'll make a bed and pick it up next time.
