Unholy Marshlands Part 2: Uncharted Territory 3 Episode 28

The Unholy Marshlands keep up the pressure. The death counter starts at Basket 42, Scoti 25 and ends at Basket 43, Scoti 27, and every one of those deaths has soul sand somewhere nearby.

A dead Basket

It opens on a creeper and a cobblestone wall that "really held up." The soul sand didn't. Within about a minute of "this is the episode," Basket is dead. "You can't put a dead Basket in the continuity chest." Scoti goes back for the gear, makes a crafting bench and a chest to hold it, and runs into trouble on the way: a creeper, an accidental arrow into an Enderman, and a zombie that picked up Basket's sword. It shows up a second time later, still holding the sword. "I don't think he dropped it this time."

Cave spiders by the melons

Back together, they look for the spawners along the waterfall. One of them spots it next to the watermelons and goes in, and it's a cave spider spawner. "They just spawned around me. I'm going to die. I don't have very much life." It turns into "the please don't let me die song," but nobody dies there.

Nearby is a single chest marked with lapis blocks, which they've learned means extra loot rather than wool. "Wait, is it trapped?" "Do not ask that right as I open it." It isn't. Inside are bottles o' enchanting, a Potion of Night Vision, a diamond axe and a diamond shovel. "Can't wait for us to die and lose those off an edge."

Sorting

They sort gear at the chests. Crappy pickaxes get combined into better ones, a stone sword with Sharpness II turns up, and the water bucket goes to the other one "because I'm never fast enough." They still haven't found a potion trader and have no nether wart. Then they look over the edge for the way on and find a tunnel up high with a sign that reads "Dream on. <3" They dig around behind it, then decide it's a side trip and the real way on is somewhere else.

Two Scoti deaths

The real route is back down past the waterfall to a lake. Killing a pack of spiders seems to make things worse: "all of a sudden packs of four things are spawning, like, all over the place." One sword breaks. Then it's "creeper city," skeletons and slow sand again. Scoti dies in a corner and runs back to the remains with no armor on. "I'm running right in." That doesn't work either, and the counter hits 27. The third trip, with gear, recovers "a lot" of it, if maybe not all.

Witches

Across the lake is a brick building, and there's a witch spawner in it. The witches throw a poison that lasts "forever in a day," and one of them is out of Poison Antidote. Above the lake hangs a chandelier with skeleton spawners on it, "so they spawn and drop into the water and shoot you as you try and go down." The way on seems to be a hole in the water. One of them grabs a pair of projectile protection chain leggings, they spot some purple-armored mobs, and that's enough. The plan for next time is water breathing potions and a dive straight in.
