Another half episode, and it's Basket alone. "Hey everybody, Basket here, it is episode 46.5." Scoti doesn't appear, and the death counter sits at Basket 47, Scoti 43 from start to finish. Nobody dies.
A farm that isn't worth it
The idea comes from making tools. The sword-carrying Marble Warriors drop iron swords, and iron swords can be combined into fully repaired ones and then enchanted, which saves iron. So Basket sets up boxes around the archer spawner and the sword spawner, plus a water elevator to bring the mobs together.
Then comes the catch. "Something I forgot about these guys is that they have protection and they have thorns, so this isn't even worth it." Maybe pistons could crush them, but not today. Basket heads down to the Hypercharged floor instead.
Iron and a battle axe
The way in is the little bottom window they found last time. Basket has already built a ladder down and a platform with a safety rail. The area below was all iron, and about three stacks of it are mined already, with more still in the walls.
There are chests down here too, and a ghast spawner right next to one of them. Basket thinks about keeping the spawner as a ghast tear grinder, maybe up top instead. The chest gets emptied without breaking anything: ghast tears, some sand and a Dwarven Battle Axe. "Looks pretty good." Basket sticks with the current weapon, though. "I like to block."
Charged creepers and creeper heads
Further in are creeper spawners. The plan: shoot what's out, rush in, throw torches everywhere. One spot turns out to be full of creeper heads. "That's funny." Then two charged creeper spawners. The first goes down right away, the second spawns a creeper before Basket gets to it, and Basket falls back and then breaks it.
The chests behind them are worth it: a Huntsman's Bow, a healing potion, books, nether wart, a bunch of ladders Basket can't find a reason for, and some TNT. The tooltips also show Diamond Leggings and a Splash Potion of Strength.
There's gold here too, but another spawner covers it, probably archers or skeletons. More gold would mean healing potions without having to kill witches, but "all I really need is 9 for the victory monument, right?"
Ghast spawners in the dark
After a trip back to base, the job is making the iron area safe to mine. That means lighting it up and taking out the ghast spawner. Going down activates it, so Basket has to hurry. Later a diagonal line in the distance turns out to be ghasts from more spawners, three in all. Basket guesses this bottom section has no dark room to cut down on spawns, so it's packed with natural mobs. The spawners go anyway.
Creepers carrying TNT
Then the TNT-headed creepers show up. They keep coming, and Basket works out that if one is burning and you put it out, it drops its TNT. Basket leaves water down to help.
Basket can't find where they're spawning from. After a while they just stop, and the best guess is that they blew up their own spawner. That's safe enough to start mining iron.
The episode signs off with Basket still in the creeper face. "Rawr, rawr."
