The counter opens at Scoti 48, Basket 47. Last time ended in a little secret area with the Lacerator in it, and they decide to leave it there "because it's so awesome." They do take the three anvils.
Tied again
It goes wrong fast. Creepers come from behind, a bow is close to breaking, and a potion leaves one of them blind with a few seconds of speed. "I can't see anything!" About two and a half minutes in, a creeper gets Basket. The counter goes to 48 each.
Basket respawns back at the monument hall and has to run all the way in again. The pile of dropped gear sits in a spawn zone with creepers wandering around it. "You're able to secure my stuff?" "I'm standing all around it." Skeletons with Punch bows keep knocking them around, and nobody can see where the arrows come from.
A supply stop in the cave
They set down chests and a crafting table and sort it all out. There's Projectile Protection armor ("sounds great in this level, actually"), a Neato Bow, and an anvil to fix a bow. One of them suggests combining two damaged bows into a fresh one. "You're so smart." One of them takes coal, but not all of it, "because if I die again I don't want to lose it all."
The path of the ghast
There are two ways forward, toward the ghast or not. They pick not. "There's a ghast this way too." "Oh, but you promised." Zombies, spiders and fire fill the next stretch. One of them eats both golden apples "like a jerk." Someone takes out a ghast spawner by running in and breaking it, and explains the trick: these are mini ghasts, still way bigger than the spawner box, so you aim for the middle of it.
Fleecy box!
Then Scoti spots it. "Fleecy box! Let's go! Come on! Run!" There's a huge block of iron hanging in the air nearby, and the box sits among blazes, poisonous spiders, hypercharged creepers and a witch. Scoti makes it into the box. Basket doesn't. "I'm still around the corner like when you first left me."
It takes a while to get back together. "I'm almost dead, cover me!" Once they're clear, Scoti apologizes: "I was like, 'There's a fleecy box!' And I thought for sure you were running with me."
Up the sand
They run for the exit. "Follow the sand, go up the sand!" Neither of them has a shovel. Some mobs drop nearly broken Water Demon Scythes, and one ends up in Basket's inventory. They pass spawners hidden inside trees. "Can't wait for the next people who play this to take that."
Blue on the monument
Back at the hall, the purple wool from Under Your Skin is already up, and the blue wool goes in next to it. Scoti grabbed two pieces of wool and offers the spare. Scoti also signs off with a promise to stop running straight into fleecy boxes: "I bet there were 20 ghasts in there." "At least."
The counter ends at 48 each. Brown, green, red and black are still to come, plus the diamond block.
