Forsaken Cliffs: Untold Stories 3 Episode 22

It turns out they came through the lava level backwards, which explains a lot. This episode is bridges, creepers, and two very different ideas about how to enter a room.

Expert trap tricker

The ladder trap from last time was supposed to go off when you reach the top of the stairs, not when you come down them. Some TNT goes off anyway. Their best theory for why the ladders stayed put is that one of them broke a tripwire hook instead of the wire itself. Expert trap tricker, as he puts it.

They pool resources first. One has 21 torches, the other 44, so they even it out to about 32 each. Then wood becomes more torches, coal comes out of the ender chest, and they have stacks and stacks of torches to lose.

Charging in

Across the bridges a skeleton picks at them, and then creepers arrive. Three of them. Four. Lots. Chat reads Scoti was blown up by a creeper, and his things come raining down all over the place. They recover most of it, including a bow that looked lost, and pick up an Aqua Affinity book and more wood.

Then a short exchange that sums up the partnership. We have very different approaches, one says. I like to look around first. You like to charge in. A witch shows up while someone is out of arrows, and slowness potions start flying.

Two signs

A sign finally says where they are: Area, Forsaken Cliffs, emeralds 14 through 16. The next one says Drizzling Cove, 17 through 19. Sounds like water, one of them says. They already know where water is, from a sign in the lava area that pointed toward a higher-numbered area they skipped.

They vote to keep exploring the bridge level. The bridge is three wide, and according to one of them the only thing that makes it unsafe is the other one.

Rules of the chest

A skeleton drops a Sharpness I, Knockback I sword. Zombie flesh does not seem to be giving them hunger, which sets off a brief worry that they are back on easy, until one of them gets the hunger effect after all. Someone ends up on a bridge fighting an armored zombie with his bare hands as another one comes up behind him. On the death count, one of them claims the lead. Shut your mouth, says the other.

Past two skeleton spawners side by side, chat reads Scoti was shot by a skeleton. "I died for you that time." Then an argument about chests. You always take the chest. I always take the chest? How am I supposed to remember all these rules?

Whatever happened to emeralds

The honest assessment comes near the end. They have not found any emeralds in a long time, and they never got the wool, because they left that area before finishing it. Still making progress, just not the kind that goes on a resume. A helmet changes hands, there is no crafting bench, and they end the episode with a sniper still shooting at them.
