They are still in the levitation tunnel, still burning, and the death count is climbing toward a hundred. Then somebody remembers the armor they have been sitting on for ages.
Still falling up
How hard is it to kill a shulker? Nobody knows. One of them got far enough last time to see a tunnel way up above the shulkers, but he clipped his shoulder on a one-block gap and never found out where it led. Three hearts, on fire. Do you think I can do it? Nope.
They talk about what they could have brought. Shields, maybe, except there is no iron for them. Water would make it easy, but buckets are against the rules, and easy mode is for wimps. One tries switching to the third-person view to see his head better. That does not work at all; he started running up the stairs to leave, which was the first hint.
Racking up the deaths
The chat log tells the story better than they do. Burned to death. Tried to swim in lava. Tried to swim in lava to escape Shulker. Walked into fire whilst fighting Shulker. Over and over, for both of them. They are almost at a hundred deaths, and someone has seen a player finish the map with 200. They will have well over that.
One of them wastes two golden apples on a run that goes nowhere. Oh my god, Render, you're killing my soul.
One last run
Then Basket has an idea. Scoti has said this is his final attempt before they move on. So why not wear the purple armor, the fire protection set they picked up a long time ago? It is one run. If he dies, he loses it, but if there is any place in this map where you want fire protection, it is here. Take chicken and golden apples, do it once, and do it properly. Basket switches to watching Scoti's stream.
It works. The one-by-one hole goes fine, a clipped edge does no damage, and he makes it up past the shulkers. That armor's the best. At the top is a button: push this button to escape the horror. Scoti does not push it yet. He grabs everything first.
The haul
Scoti brings back the red wool and a stack of loot, all of it put in the ender chest. A diamond axe, sword and pickaxe. Books for Fortune III, Frost Walker II, Mending (two of those), Infinity, Power III, Sharpness III, Silk Touch, Thorns, Efficiency III, Protection III and Looting III. Plus a pile of experience bottles. The armor did not break.
Now I deserve all the chicken in the world, he says, and promises a picture of himself eating chicken to celebrate. renderXR was watching the whole time. They poke around for a ladder or a shortcut back up, and decide the end of the last episode was not exciting enough, so this is a good place to stop.
