The red wool goes on the monument, Emerald 37 goes in the box, and then it is time for an area they have walked past for ages without going in. Corrosion.
Red wool on the monument
Wool on the monument, emeralds in the box. Red wool, woohoo. There is a brief debate about whether they ever found the first wool. They did, and they found the first emerald too. Anyone who missed it can watch the series and find out how strong their friendship is, that they are still playing this map together.
Into Corrosion
On the way they pass a chest full of potions they never collected, flagged by a sticky note on someone's desk for a very long time, and the death chest from a stretch where one of them died a lot. Then the door they have walked by every time: Corrosion. Potions and backup gear go into a chest and someone sleeps in the bed to set the spawn. Alright, man, you ready to beat the game?
It starts as hallways. A zombie spawner on the left, another one ahead, and a reminder to watch for gravel under the spawners. It is very quiet. Little too quiet. Then something goes off: a string, a piston retracting the floor, and a few mobs. Rather anticlimactic, but it scared the heck out of them.
Bridges over nothing
Past a door is a huge pit with lava a very long way down and stone bridges across it, each missing a block here and there. Why do there have to be little chunks missing out of the bridge? Basket pours water on the floor as they go, and they check how far down it is by watching the water fall. It actually did hit the bottom. It took a long time.
One of them blocks off the side paths so nothing can walk up behind them. The guess is that an emerald is up in one of the high areas that has no path to it.
Spawners and a shield
Creepers, spiders, the first skeleton of the area. One of them runs ahead to light a spawner that turns out to be a creeper spawner, which means the skeletons were natural spawns. A chest that is not trapped has a shield, bread for days and some armor better than what one of them was wearing. Somebody is told to be patient and not be a Scoti about it. Creepers in the gaps get shot like creepers in a barrel.
Safety third
The plan to save torches is to wall off the side rooms, take the torches out, and let them become honey pots. That is fine for the rooms. Taking the torches off the bridges is not. Then you're just making it so the stormtroopers can shoot us while we swing across. Safety third. The torches go back.
What do you think of my bridge job? It's great. That is the end of the episode.
