After a few minutes of frustration somewhere else, they give up on it and move on to Chillblast Mines. It's cold, it's full of spiders, and by the end the blue wool is sitting on the monument.
Six torches and some coal blocks
One of them did such a good job emptying their inventory at base that they arrive with six torches and nothing to make more. The other has coal blocks, so nobody has to mine. The first job is lighting the entrance so it stays a safe way in, which is hard to do with a bunch of creepers following one of them around.
They check the top of the first structure for a spawner and find nothing. One of them wants to look into anything on this level that could be hiding an emerald.
Soup, a secret and good chests
Inside is a kitchen. One of them is starving and happy to see so much soup. The furnaces are all empty. "Lousy kitchen!" Someone asks for a pair of pants out of a chest, with a plan to enchant them back at base.
One of them also finds a secret room. The tell was a chiseled stone block in the wall, the one with the square pattern. "I'm so clever." The verdict on the food in there is that soup is stupid.
The next room looks like a trap, so they climb up on something before opening the rest. It isn't one. The chests have books, lapis, TNT, iron, an iron sword, and nearly a stack of arrows. They agree this area is much more generous than the last one.
Story time
Upstairs, Scoti announces, "Guess what time it is, Basket? It's story time." The story tells how the iron in the pit below was a godsend, so they didn't need to import it from another mine anymore. Then they hit spider nests, miners started dying, they dug too greedily and too deep, and the evacuation tunnel collapsed. The cavern was too unstable for explosives. The last line is "We are doomed."
A gold pickaxe from the same area gets kept for breaking spawners.
Spiders and a spawner in the wall
Further in there are spiders, creepers dropping from above, and a lot of string. The creeper spawner turns out to be inside the wall of a building, spawning them on the outside. One of them breaks it the old-school way, and then they find a spider spawner too. The TNT around it is not primed.
A new YouTube subscriber comes in during the fight, and that turns into a talk about the partner program email YouTube sent out. One of them compares it to a five-year marriage ending in divorce.
The blue wool
One of them wants to blow the floor out with TNT. The other points out that it would just fall down, so they shoot the creepers with their new arrows instead and get a foothold up top. That's where the wool is. "We beat the game."
With both inventories full, they leave the lower level for later and head home.
Out of order
At the monument, the blue wool apparently skips ahead of a level they haven't done, which bothers one of them. They place it anyway on a count of three.
The monument chest still has an empty slot labeled "Emerald 6 goes here," and it doesn't say where that emerald is. They notice the colored glass in the chest seems to match areas on the map, including a purple that might point to the other intersection, and the episode ends on "we'll see."
