Chillblast Pit has one emerald, a lot of cobwebs and a drop that goes all the way down to obsidian. They come out with the emerald, the light blue wool, almost a stack of iron and nobody dead, which makes it one of their better days.
One emerald, lots of webs
They start at the intersection, trying to remember which areas they've already cleared and grabbing more food on the way. The next stop is Chillblast Pit. What's the name of this place, and how many emeralds? One. The warning is tough spiders and nasty stuff in the middle, with lots of spider webs. "I hope you like cobwebs." "I love cobwebs, they're my favorite."
The arrow situation is weak, so the plan is to keep any skeleton spawner they find. What they find instead is spider spawners. One sits on top of a chest, and the chest won't open until the spawner is broken. Something tells one of them that once those spawners are gone, something bad is going to happen.
Going down
The pit goes a long way down. One of them worries the bottom might be void. There's a record down there, and pumpkins, and a treasure chest with Feather Falling boots and ender pearls. A good shield turns up too, with knockback resistance, which one of them says will keep them from sucking at Minecraft.
A zombie paths its way up from below, which means there must be a way to the bottom without ladders. Then: "Oh god, did I just see you fall?" "I'm fine, everything's fine." The bottom is obsidian, not void, and there's iron down there. "They didn't lie to us about the iron."
The one who fell is glad they'd just grabbed the Feather Falling boots. The other is glad too: "If you'd gone all the way to the bottom, man, I would have pulled a basket and been like, 'Dude, I can't get your stuff.'"
The spider and the record
There's a huge spider built into the middle of the pit. On the way back up, Basket opens a treasure chest and finds another record: Tune of Salvation, C418 "mall," with Smite III, Bane of Arthropods III and Knockback I. In a level full of spiders, that's the right one.
Scoti finds the emerald, and enjoys it. "Basket probably wishes that he could find them, but he shouldn't have partnered up with someone who's so good at finding them." The reply: "Actually, I don't mind it. As long as we find them, that's the important part." This from the one who used to say they'd never find them all and should just quit.
Light blue under the spider
The wool might be at the bottom, like every other level. Then someone spots stuff underneath the spider: light blue glass. "Good eye." The wool is there too, so nobody has to go down to the bottom again.
Now one of them has the emerald and the other has the wool, and both claim to be taking all the risks. "Death is entertaining. Are you not entertained?" They clear the iron from the corners, come up with almost a whole stack, and climb out on the ladders.
Emerald 9
Back at the monument, the new emerald's tag reads "Emerald 9, Chillblast Pit, Light Blue Wool." The glass colors in the chest look too alike to tell apart, so one of them reads the data on the blocks to sort out which is light blue. The top row of the monument chest is now full.
Running out of windows
There's another window to put in at the house, and a worry that they'll run out of windows. They're looking forward to Untold Stories 5, Calamity Cabins, and joke that this might be the fastest anyone has done this map, if you only count the time they spend playing. That's the end of the day.
