Cyan Wool: Untold Stories 4 Episode 16

  • Published on

The episode opens with the emeralds already in hand. "Guess who has two thumbs and two emeralds in his pockets. This guy." What's left is clearing out the creeper room, taking everything home, and finding out how far down this area goes. Quite far, it turns out.

Water in every direction

The creepers at the bottom still need handling. The plan is water: pour it out so it pushes the creepers back, then shoot the ones that are left and work over to the spawner. The first try doesn't reach the back of the room, so the creepers can still get around the obsidian. Water goes out in all four directions after that. The glass makes it hard to tell where it ends.

"That block I put down is a bad idea. So now we just need to use a lot of arrows." There's only one spawner, in the far corner, and it goes down. One of them checks a spot that might hide another emerald. "It's not an emerald. It's the wall." So maybe it was only two. "Wish render was here so you can see how much we owned his level."

Emeralds 10 and 11

Carrying the wool and two emeralds around seems like a good reason to go home. At the monument, one of them takes the wool and the other gets the emeralds. Slots 10 and 11 fill up, and the cyan wool goes in.

The monument has spots for blocks too: coal, iron, lapis, diamond, gold and redstone. The coal block goes in, and a lapis block gets made. Redstone is a problem. They don't have any, apart from a redstone torch. The witches dropped some, and nobody kept it.

The basement

Then it's back down to what they call the basement. The stairs lead to a spawner they both guess is a witch spawner. "It's a trick. It's a creeper spawner." A witch does show up, and Basket takes the credit. "That's all me. It's a me, Basket MC."

There are blaze, skeleton and creeper spawners on the way down, and a red floor. "I'm guessing the floor is red because our blood will be staining it." At the very bottom is a chest with a ton of potions, "like every potion ever in the game." They leave it for the trip back up. The bottom turns out to be slime blocks. "I could have jumped down."

Don't touch the string

A string runs across the middle of one room. It's probably wired to redstone, so one of them goes over it. "I'm very Indiana Jones." Later it goes off anyway. "Oh god, what did you do?" "Nothing."

Arrows pour out of the pillar. The good news is that arrows that miss can be picked up off the floor. Not every arrow in the room comes from the trap, though. "Ow." "Oh, sorry. That wasn't on purpose. I promise." Then: "That one was on purpose. That was payback." By the end of it they finally have redstone, enough for a block.

Rotten Gorge

Another intersection leads to Rotten Gorge, and they wonder if it's a level inside this level. One of them bets it's the brown wool, because "they always do mushrooms and stuff." They're right about the mushrooms. There are giant ones, spiders, coal in the corner and spawners hidden in the dirt and in a tree.

They almost ended the episode before going in, then decided on a few more minutes. A chest gives up gold pickaxes, and one of them takes one to save their iron. A staircase leads to a shortcut. They dig at an angle and come out by the water near their own base. And that's where they stop, so Basket can get a snack.
