They're back at the volcano, and this time they go inside. It's a short episode and a rough one. Somebody calls it "the just constantly getting restarted episode," and that's about right.
What's in there
This is as far as they got last time. There's an Enderman down the road ("don't look at him"), a creeper on the right, and gravel that might hide something. They decide it doesn't, since there's cobblestone behind it. One of them has no torches. "I'm not a good Minecraft player." Some coal and wood change hands.
The room itself: a lava pit in the middle, glass on the far side they need to get through, a ghast spawner, two blaze spawners down in the lava, and a chest sitting right in the center.
The Enderman wins
It doesn't take long. The Enderman gets mad, and the chat reads "Scoti_Garbidis was slain by Enderman." Then the hunt for the stuff starts, through a pit nobody knows how to get out of. "This place is not a fun place to be." Pants, hat, shirt, boots, pick, shield, both swords, the axe. The potatoes turn up too, in the potato pit.
One bucket, two spawners
The plan is to use water to deal with the lava so they can reach the blaze spawners and maybe that chest. One of them sets down an infinite spring. "I'll go to the one on the left, you go to the one on the right." "Charge!"
It goes badly. Someone gets stuck in the water, someone is on fire, the blazes shoot at both of them, and a ghast lands a hit. "We should have done these one at a time." Still, both blaze spawners come out. "I've taken out my spawner. Did you take out yours?" "I got my spawner." The lava turns to obsidian where the water reaches it.
Down again
Then the chat reads "Scoti_Garbidis was fireballed by Blaze." The respawn is somewhere unhelpful, so a bed gets broken, and the guess is they will end up back at the beginning of the map. "This is a rough episode, man."
The list of things they should have brought grows fast: spare bows, fire resistance potions, more arrows. One of them is down to one arrow and a golden apple, and a lot of gear burned. Armor got destroyed in an attack, and a pair of Mending boots is gone because there was no XP coming in to keep them repaired. A chest nearby has iron armor, so that helps. "I never ever die or lose my stuff, because I'm an expert Minecrafter."
An emerald under a ledge
In the middle of all that, one of them yells, "Oh, I found an emerald!" and then retreats anyway, out of arrows. Later they go back for it. It's under a little ledge. "My expert running away skills revealed this."
Scoti offers to carry it to the ender chest just outside the volcano, across the valley. "What is this, Scoti making sense and thinking ahead?" Arrows get shared too, a whole pile of them, since running out was the problem last time.
By the end, one of them sums it up: "He died a couple times."
