The episode opens with a promise: "From now on I'm carrying a lever and a piston on me forever." Then sticky keys pops up, because it's a new Windows install. They're back in the fiery level with the purple crystals, and the way on seems to be down.
Down to the purple
There's a mob they call the redstone guy, a creeper that gets knocked off a ledge, and spawners to light up. The plan is to get down onto "the purple stuff" below. From up top they can see a box that probably holds the wool, maybe white. One of them gets down there. "Was there a nice path or did you jump?" "I jumped a little."
The bottom is full of blazes and ghasts. "Can you please kill ghasts?" "Why didn't I grab fire resistance?" "Oh, I'm on fire!"
Everything burns
The chat line comes up: "Scoti_Garbidis was fireballed by Ghast." It gets worse. A fire started right where Scoti died, and everything they dropped burned. "I don't believe you." "I witnessed your stuff." "I want to see the footage right now."
"I need to reset my bed, by the way. I'm still in that hell level." A second chat line follows soon after: "Scoti_Garbidis fell from a high place." Getting back looks like it'll take the rest of the episode.
A month later
Then the recording jumps. By their own count the death happened "a month ago," and Scoti has new gear since. The teasing doesn't stop. "We should bring up how you died more." There's an offer of a little memorial at the spot. "I don't remember dying. That's why it didn't happen."
Spawner by spawner
The second half is slow, careful work. A blaze spawner, ghast spawners on top of pillars, a redstone spawner, a "quad spawner" in a hole, then spawners for the coal head and gold head mobs. "This is a max spawn situation." "The sword sucks." At one point it's "GG man," and then more creepers show up. One of them crafts a shield.
The section turns out to connect up to the iron area they'd written off as a dead end. There's a lot of coal, and there are two bridges.
The treasure chest
Down by the gold spawner there's a chest on glowstone and white quartz. "It looks like a trap." It isn't. It's a treasure chest with a diamond shovel, a golden apple, cake, gold ingots, bottles o' enchanting, iron leggings with Protection II and Unbreaking III, and books including Mending and Efficiency III. "I'm the greatest." "No, you're the greatest." "We're the greatest."
Rotten flesh, gravel, netherrack and feathers get dumped. The hope is that the other bridge leads to the next intersection, where they can drop off stuff and then go back for the wool.
