This whole episode is towers. Every few steps there's another one, full of skeletons, and the only way they find to deal with them is to dig in under each one and break the spawner from the inside. It's slow. By the end, one of them calls it the most fun they've had in a while.
Right up the middle
The first tower is a pillar of obsidian with skeletons on every level. One of them has a diamond pick, so the plan is simple: "I can go right up the middle of their business." It works. "One spawner down." The other one stays outside, keeps shooting, and points out a useful thing about these skeletons: "These guys tell you their range by where all those arrows are." The ground is covered in them.
"I'll take a pillar of skeletons any day over an invoker."
Where's the shield?
Someone heads further in and walks straight into more skeletons without a shield. "There should have been one in the chest." So it's back to get one. They note this would be a great spot for a skeleton grinder, then remember they already built one.
Basket's inventory has the Valkyrie Sword in it, with Smite III, Knockback II and Unbreaking I.
Towers everywhere
Past a crevasse with stairs going up, it starts raining. There are two blazes, and they're taking damage from the rain, which gets a laugh. There are witches, a spawner of wither skeletons, and a cage floor you can fall right through. "Don't walk on that unless you're crazy." "I take offense to the unless you're crazy comment."
Every direction has another tower. "Maybe exploring is not the best way to go." So it's more digging up through the middle. Someone mentions reading about a speedrun of this map done in 40 minutes. "I'm not much of a speed run kind of guy."
The real bad guys
Across the way there's a building with redstone that looks like a temple, and more wither skeletons down below. Then one of them finds what's under a tower: evokers. "Those are the bad guys, the real bad guys." The talking voices they've been hearing all level were probably those, not villagers. "This is a bad level." There's a blaze spawner in a tree too, and Scoti catches fire at one point.
Flames for legs
Near the end, something lands next to one of them. "Oh, I've got mining fatigue, slowness." It's a magic mob, "he's got like flames for legs," and it might be one of the things they saw previews of on the way in. One of them kills it. It drops a Projectile Protection III book and "some nasty arrows that do bad things to you."
Somebody falls a level, ghasts are roaming around, and they wrap it up. "Now this level's good, man. I like it. This is probably the most fun I've had in a while."
