Episode 16 of Kill the Dragon, Michael Deering's December 2016 Minecraft Hardcore Challenge, opens back in the zombie spawner room in daylight. "So it's not raining, which is great." The plan is simple: build up levels at the spawner, then head up at dark "and see if we can find some endermen using our cool looting sword." The ender pearls are still the problem, and so are the villagers. "I'd be real surprised if I got back to the village and my villagers have actually bred."
Waiting for dark
Most of the day goes into swinging at zombies in the dark room, and the level counter climbs from 29 to 31. Then Basket checks the time. "Okay, so it is now night. I'm gonna go upstairs." The ladder shaft leads back up to the cobblestone marker pillar with its torches. Basket covers the hole "so that we don't have guys going in there" and builds a low cobblestone roof out from the pillar, then swaps to the Looting III sword. "Here's my looting sword." Then, with a little impatience: "Come visit me you Enderman, I'm calling your name."
The sword pays off
This time the endermen come. Basket looks straight at one to draw it in. The new sword does what it was made for, and the first kill drops pearls. "Yes, two from that guy. I'm on track." A quick look in the inventory shows two ender pearls. More endermen walk in across the grass, and the count keeps going. "So that's four. Wow, we're doing so much better now."
The long way back
The field near the marker fills up with other mobs, so Basket tries walking off to let them despawn. "I want to kind of walk away from where all those guys are." After that it's time to head for the village, where there's "an enderman killing spot set up." That plan has a hitch. "This is not the right direction. Well, that's exciting, I'm running the wrong way." A skeleton waits in the village farm, and its arrows stick in the farmland while Basket closes in behind the shield.
Rain again
Then the weather turns, like last time. "Now it's raining. There's gonna be no Enderman anyway." Basket heads inside to take stock at the chest. The count in the chest reads five ender pearls. "So we have five Ender Pearls, so not enough. But we do have a Looting Sword."
Still no baby villagers
The last stop is the breeding pair. Two villagers stand in their house, and there's no baby with them. Basket's verdict is short. "Yeah, you guys are so useless." Back outside on a rooftop in the rain, it's hard to tell the time. "I think it's day."
Dawn in the rain
Basket ends the episode alive at dawn in the village, at level 32, with five ender pearls stored. "Tune in next time to find out if I can get more enderpearls." The end card follows with no gameplay after it.
