Episode 15 of Kill the Dragon, Michael Deering's December 2016 Minecraft Hardcore Challenge, picks up in the dark of the zombie spawner room, with a baby zombie to handle first. "Excuse me while I kill this baby zombie." The plan from last time hasn't changed. "So once we get that, I have a Looting 3 enchant all ready to go." The real problem is ender pearls. "The endermen don't want to drop them, the villagers don't want to breed to trade them." Looting is meant to improve the odds.
Grinding to 30
Basket keeps swinging at the zombies the water pushes in. "This is still slow, but this is at least a little faster than doing it on the surface." The plan is to make a new sword for the grinder "instead of using up my other two swords." A few minutes in, the counter ticks from 29 to 30. "Okay, are we at 30? No, there we go." With the day running short, Basket finishes off the zombies, climbs the ladder shaft and marks the hole at the top with a cobblestone pillar and torches. "I want to mark this spot."
Looting III at last
Back at the base, the table needs lapis first. "I need Lapis." Then the enchant goes on an iron sword, and the tooltip reads Looting III and Knockback II. The knockback came along with it, and Basket is fine with that. "That works out." Next comes a look at what Protection would cost for armor, and a check of some leather boots that carry Feather Falling II. "They're leather but they're still feather falling." The wish list gets longer: "more levels for more enchants and endermen to not be afraid of water."
Rain at dusk
The idea was to hunt endermen on the surface that night with the new sword. The weather has other plans. Rain comes in over the village farm as the sun goes down, and Basket knows what that means: "they don't come out during the rain." After filling a bucket with water at the farm, it's back across the fields in the rain toward the spawner. "Oh, there's a creeper. Uh, we don't care about that."
Another night underground
Down at the spawner, Basket closes the room back up and settles in to kill zombies for the rest of the night. It isn't a lost night. "Not really wasted because I need, I need experience to enchant stuff." Still, there's some disappointment: "I just was hoping I was gonna be enderman hunting tonight." The rotten flesh keeps piling up with nobody to sell it to. "If I had a cleric, this would be great. 'Cause I can trade all these, uh, all the zombie flesh." By the end of the night the counter is back up to 29.
Up top at daybreak
Before morning, Basket climbs the shaft to "see if it's not raining and maybe Endermen will spawn in." The night is already over at the top. "Oh, it's already break." The sun is out and the grass is empty. "Any endermen? No?" Basket ends the episode alive next to the marker pillar, with Looting III on a sword and still no new ender pearls. The end card follows with no gameplay after it.
