Episode 21 of Kill the Dragon, Michael Deering's December 2016 Minecraft Hardcore Challenge, starts where the last one ended: in the dark zombie spawner room, with level 27 on the counter. The goal hasn't changed. "I'm trying to get 30 levels, possibly 33 levels, in order to enchant, to get ready to kill the dragon."
What the levels are for
Basket lays out the plan between zombies. Feather Falling IV for the diamond boots comes first, and after that, "I'll probably just do regular, smaller enchants, like protection, regular protection if I can." Basket has some more diamonds too, and might see what can be made from them.
A trip through the chest turns up a backup. "I think I actually have another pair of boots." The tooltip shows leather boots with Feather Falling II.
Sorting the junk
Basket goes through the chest again a couple of minutes later. Leather pants with Unbreaking I don't make the cut. "I guess I don't need these pants." A diamond chestplate would be nice, but the count isn't there. "No, I don't have enough diamonds to make a diamond chestplate." Basket also makes a note to check on golden apples. A look in the inventory shows one of the spare iron swords: Sharpness II, Knockback I, Looting I and Unbreaking II.
Level 30 at nightfall
The counter ticks over to 28, then 29. Night is coming in the game, and that changes the math. "Although it's starting to become night, so I feel like we should grab as many levels as we can now." Walking back to the enchanting room in the dark means going "through all the bad guys." A little past the eight-minute mark, Basket gets there. "We're at 30."
Basket won't have to throw eyes of ender to find the stronghold, either. "I actually have the coordinates so I don't have to worry about chucking the eyes of ender up in the air and maybe losing them."
Staying for more
Level 31 comes just before the twelve-minute mark. "I think this is still the most effective way of getting experience." It's slow, though, and each level takes longer than the one before. Basket weighs walking over in the dark at 33 against grinding for the rest of the episode and heading back in daylight, and leans toward staying. More levels means more than one level 30 enchant, and a better sword is on the list. "If I could get a good, you know, sharpness sword. That would be nice." For the dragon, Basket figures, "It would be better to do melee."
The counter reaches 32, then 33.
In the water again
With the timer nearly done, the enchanting waits for next time. "I'm going to let my timer go to 20 and then we'll go enchant next episode." Basket adds a reminder to save enough levels to put Feather Falling on the boots.
In the last seconds Basket switches to the third-person view and is back in the water. "I'm in the water again!" The episode ends with Basket alive in the spawner room at level 33. The end card follows, with no gameplay after it.
